A lot of hate on the Si. It's an awesome car. Packed with features. Yeah, its FWD. So what.

So it has the complete opposite of the most effective weight dynamics setup.

not to mention the owners love to try and race you on the highway, just so they can weave in and out of traffic, loose control and crash into that poor camry

been there, seen it, John and Louie and Atilla can say the same

The only reason that cars are front wheel drive is because it's cheap. End of story. There are no real benefits to it that can't be done better with RWD or AWD.

It's a completely legit question but you should have know what it would turn into on here.

That's just stereotypes.

For what it is, the Civic Si Sedan is a great car.

And its RWD, not FWD....
Actually the civics are producing about the same HP as our 8's torque maybe 130's
but the 8 is heavier

civic being 2800 LBS
and the 8 being 3029

But in straight line its pretty dead even..

Civic winning if it has a good driver..

N/A for N/a the civic beats the 8

when you get into the double clutching on those civics and stay within the vtec range and reduce the lag it is a great improvement.. I would never double clutch my car..

put headers and cat delete and exhaust and intake on the civic.. the rx8 cant keep up on the STRAIGHTS..

the 8 HAS by farrr much better handling.. but those little civics are quick be careful and dont underestimate em.. so on the track.. civic will get spanked..

I was gonna say something along these lines but I figured I'd let it go. But he's right. Don't underestimate the new Si's.

And please spare me guys. I have both cars ok. I like BOTH cars. That's why I own BOTH of them.

You already did. Among them are:

RWD vs FWD
Suspension type (McPherson vs. Double Wishbone) and tuning
Chassis stiffness
Powerband
Torque
Tires

it is a great car.. after my friends baught one i was really impressed by it the 2 dr is ugly in my view point but the 4dr is nice the tailight are much nicer..

if you learn how to drive and take advantage of that vtec youll walk away from 8's easily.. beleive me i guess ima bad driver then lol flame me away hahah but its true..

People dont buy civics to be the fastest ont he block.. but some of them let it get to tehm and hump you ont he highway every chance they get..

for a car to have to show off how fast it is for people to pay attention to it nahh not my deal anymore..

I can get peoples attention while eating at ihope and my car just sits outside and people go up to it and look inside.. and keep staring..

I told my friend to get a 8 instead of the SI but he said hes a honda guy i was like man bro you need to get out of that Highschool theme..

they are pretty expensive for a civic.. my re sale value is still better than his SI with it having like 10K miles 2007

mine bieng 2005 with 45K miles..

But his cost 28K and mine cost 31K

Exactly. I think with another month behind the Si, I could really keep up with a Stock 8. Si's are very mod-friendly too... I/H/E is nothing to sneeze at.

Just because I said this doesn't mean I'm gonna go take on a Vette or something. Don't associate me with the stereotype of them.

That's another thing too.... It's gonna hold its value well. That's why I didn't trade in my 8.

Is the curb weight comparable between the two models?
