How is the Prelude boring? Its much better than a civic and its over 11 years old. Atleast the newest gen. May not be fast but it definetly handles great. No big *** american cars can take it around the track. Atleast in terms of handling capabilities.

Really? I can name a lot of "big *** american cars" that could slay a Prelude on any track. Yeah, it was named the best handling car in its price bracket- seven years ago. It's a real big claim that no car from an American company can out-run a 200hp wrong-wheel drive dustbuster.

You're out of your freaking mind or purposely trying to misrepresent that article. I'm going with the former... That was a test to determine the best handling car in america at that time and the only reason the Prelude was included is because it won the 30k and under handling comparo. Yes, the Prelude was a good car for its time, nut hardly anyone gave a damn and it was quite overpriced and just fast enough to not make it a total dog. Factor in inflation and have the same test today and the Prelude would be lucky to make the top 10. There are plenty of American cars big and small that wouldn't have a problem disposing of the Prelude SH around a track. The Lowly Cobalt SS and previous SRT-4 being two of them, and even after years of inflation they are thousands cheaper and will leave a Prelude in their dust in a straight line.

i personally think the prelude is dump! no offense..
I dont really like SRT4's either Driven one and it sucked lol i was scared i would crash!! lol Hated it i wouldnt want the dodge dealer to rob me by me buying one of those.. never driven a cobalt..

preludes dont handle worth crap my buddy had his 2000 prelude and his NEW CIVIC SI outhandles it big time..

I think FWD's and RWD's are in a class of there own..

Lets compare the civic to sentre SER or rsx for even the SRT4..
People seem to be very pissy lol..

Hmm I dont know ive driven a mustang and a prelude and the mustang feels TOO BULKy but maybe if the track has a lot of straightaways it will beat it..

I know my 8 int he straight aways will beat a 04' GT by 2 car lengths..

All I know if every prelude Ive ran against in my RX8 BEFORE any mods with 200lbs of JL audio and 230lbs of Greek driving it and I STILL smoked modded preludes. This thread is a waste of life.

ROFL LMFAO wow you're probably the stupidest guy to post on here...a 2000 Civic outhandle a Prelude SH? lmfao okay dude. I guess that civic can take a corvette in a drag too right?

Garbage? Funny you say that. The H22A4 makes 200 HP and 160 torque. The one in the 2006 Civic Si makes 197 and 140 torque...Garbage? Not to mention the Euro R H22 makes 220 HP and 160 torque. Still consider it garbage? And the Prelude SH was the **** for its time not just decent. How do you consider the best handling car for under 30 grand just decent? Thats like saying the RX8 handles shitty. Its sort of like the prelude in a way. It doesnt have great power but it does EVERYTHING good. Only flaw an RX8 has is its MPG.

And for those who said the Prelude still doesnt handle well. I remember seeing a video of an RSX-S S2000 Euro R Prelude and some other ones. And guess what? The PRELUDE was number 1. It spun out because of ran then the other cars passed it.

first car was a 4th gen prelude, greatest design with decent handling,

thrid car was a 5th gen with the Super Handling, and it was totally a drivers car.

Since I've owned the 8 I realized how good of a handling the Type SH had, I'll have to admit it'll take the corners better than the 8, with 90% torque transfer to one side

and just to stay with the topic, the 8 and the civic are great cars, its those ricers who loves to race on the streets that makes a bad impression for all of us...

ps
the 8 is faster than the new civic drag or track
man I'm bored

Amen thank you. I am not in any way bashing the 8 because I love it. I just hate when people deny the fact that the SH is a great handler still by todays standards. It just lacks power to keep up. The RX8 has 35 more horses then the lude. If it was equal power now it would be a different can of worms.

An Intergra tried to drag with my original car but failed. Few meters behind my brake light before end of 4th gear. I was surprised and suspected maybe is the driver problem. Cuz everyone says Honda Type R(s) are fast. I don't think I can win over a legendary car for that easy.

The Integra isn't a Type-R, unless you buy an Integra-R which isn't available worldwide...

Did you come across a ricer? Or do you live in Europe/Japan?

Why do people keep hating on the thread? Why do people keep reading it when they don't care for it?

Well what the **** do you think? I would sure as ******* hell HOPE not. I am talking about cars within the same league as the prelude. Those are borderline super cars.

First Off....calm down.

Secondly...I LOL'd at your response!

Thirdly...You might want to clarify what you mean by "big-*** america (sic) cars" made by Chevy, Dodge, and Ford. Last time I checked, the corvette and viper are big *** cars made by two of the "big three" you mentioned. You made no caveat as to your meaning.

So, in the future before you "fly off the handle" and start dropping f-bombs in your responses, make sure your argument makes sense. Had you made it clear that

big *** america cars = all american cars <$30,000

I would have no ground to stand on. Unfortunately, you did not.
That is exactly why you failed.

Good Day!
