Where's the cheapest place to get good quality coils and wires? Autozone can take their duralast junk and shove it.

I bought mine from Advance Auto, $125 for all 4, lifetime warranty. Only 2k so far, no problems.
They have been easy to return stuff to in the past.
They might even exchange them after 30k at tuneup time without checking them, IDK.

That's your choice. I got a used one. They show up in the Classifieds intermittantly. They also go fast.

I considered the BHR ignition, but opted for OEM.
This is a reasonable expense, along with NGK laser iridium plugs, $86, and NGK wires, $33.
It also is a practical way, IMHO, to plan and budget for a 30k mile maintenance routine, in addition to other regular maintenance procedures ; jack up car, rotate tires inspect/replace brakes, oil change,(2500-3000 mi. max), air & cabin air filters, clean ESS & MAF sensors, check trans. & diff. fluids, coolant flush, normal recommended maintenance stuff etc., and just give the car a good overall inspection.

Tail light issues

New to this forum, first post lol. I just traded my car last night for a 2004 RX-8, and the tail lights don't work but the hazzard lights do. I've seen a few threads stating it could be the wires, what I'm trying to figure out is if there is a fuse for those tail lights in the fuse cluster under the hood or in the driver door? Or is the fuse actually on the wire in the trunk of the car? Please, any help would be greatly appreciated!

There isn't much for someone to "look at", and you run the risk of someone who doesn't know anything about the Renesis to tell you that you have a blown head gasket and need a new engine.

Just burn off the extra moisture. It tends to build up more in cold and/or wet weather (higher % humidity conditions)

That would be correct. I've done this myself.

That thing is a POS, I would be surprised if the head is stripped unless you had done it trying to get it out this first time. After I got mine out I never put it back on.

can't remember exactly what is under there but if you get some long nose vice grips you may be able to grip the head and turn it with those .

That depends on what local regulations you have and what "illegal" modifications you make.

For example, if the local regulations requires you to have a roof, and you remove it, yes, it will be obvious.

If the local regulations require you to have Grade 8 metric bolts on your fender liners, no, they probably won't notice.

An exhaust cutout would be obvious. It would make your 8 hellaciously loud. Ear bleedingly loud. It would draw the ire of every friend, family, and cop, not to mention you're own senses. Even if you think THAT is appealing, check youtube for videos of RX-8s making flames and decide if you want that under your car next to your fuel lines.

As for a 'bypass', do you mean a cat bypass? Just get a midpipe. A proper midpipe isnt obvious without getting under the car, exception only for the smell. Many might not know why your car reeks of fumes though.

The emissions section is the one to look at. You will need to look up NC emissions regulations to determine what type of testing is done to confirm that you are emissions compliant. The type of testing will dictate what catless options you have.
