Can anyone tell me how to raise or lower the drivers seat? Mine has the manual lever you pull up and push down but neither let me move the seat vertically. Other adjustments seem to work normally. What am I missing?

 

I have an 04 RX8 non-bose, and after removing the head unit and re-installing, the heater/defrost controls don't work, the fan dial on the left works normally, but the display for radio station/temperature doesn't work. All the dash controls illuminate red when I turn on the headlights, but the rear defrost and "recirculate air" buttons are illuminated and pressing them does nothing. What should I do?

I tried this solution already, and it's not unplugged.

 

iirc theres a plastic "gear" that gets stripped and needs to be replaced. its under the cover on the side the lever is

 

Howdy i have a 2007 and a 40th anniversary 2008 which has trunk struts and the 2007 doesn't. Were they introduced in 2008 ?

 

My 2004 has trunk struts. They should all have them.

what should the normal and the max tolerated water temp be? (in a tropical 32 - 34 celcius roughly 89 - 93F ambient temp)

I live in the tropics and mine is usually in the 206-215F range.

 

Thanks, i just installed pivot throttle control which comes with a water temp display,
was driving through the traffic it was 208 - 215F. but when i redlined it, just a brief redline, it peaked at 221F. it this normal?

 

 

That's a little too high for me. I read my temps from the ECU. Your reading might be higher than the ECU, or lower, depending on where the temp sensor is. Where did you tap into? Usually it's best to keep these cars below 220F. I can get mine up to 220F too if I drive it hard. About 5-10 minutes of sprinting in traffic is enough. I live in South Asia. It's 95F year around. Whenever my car approaches 220F, I let go of the throttle and turn off the AC. Turning off the AC will help drop the temps. Worked for me every time. What year is the car?

 

I think it gets the water temp readings from the ecu too as it's plugged to the obd2. What coolant are u running ?

How long does it take for the car to get from 215 to 221? And what does it take?

 

If i just cruise normally 3-4k rpm it would stay at 208F. if i do alittle spirited drving say 6-7k rpm it would be around 215F, if i redline it, it would go up to 221F, but slowly, when i release the gas it'll go down pretty quickly to 215F then 208F.

Sounds normal to me. Don't worry about it bro! Just keep an eye on the temps and don't let it get the high.

You can try sealing around the radiator to forced air through the radiator, and not around it. I did it and it helped a lot. Search it up. You'll find pics too

 

Pretty shocked as i recall i used to own a/an E60 which water temps stays at 194F.

 

 

My 07 as new would idle at 213 deg f especially if wind was blowing from back.

I had that condition a few days ago; 95 deg f blowing from back and car hit 227 deg f.

Most I ever hit was 229 deg f while track day.

Luckily my AUTO TRANS COOLER now allows it to only hit 193 deg f while moving.

It can run 193 deg f collant and 193 deg f ATF on 100 deg f day and 100 mph.

 

That's a huge range. but i guess it's still acceptable, what cooling mods have u done besides auto trans cooler?

 

No extra mods except the BHR ign and fuel pump.

It's never used coolant.

It just doesn't like to idle or run in 90+ deg f weather.

Open hwy on hot day is not problem, and I can hear fans kick in when AC on,or turned off and fans run awhile.

I'm the guy that brought your BHR by the way.

Yeah, I kept the FL22 Mazda coolant.

I'd definitely recommend to use a FL22 or other similar longlife Japanese coolant.

Distilled water will corrode lots of stuff.

Getting the wrong coolant in rotary is good way to have a water leak in engine seals.
