since im not that great at navigating this website without the help of google i figured i'd post my issue here since i cant find anyone dealing with my specific issue. Found some that were close but not exactly there.
I have a 04 rx8 6mt 122k miles. The car randomly decides to die at a stoplight (always in neutral never i gear) when it does shut off ti will not turn over for at least 5-10 minutes. If i try to start it, the car will just make a loud clicking noise (sorta sounds like engine locking)
it can't be the coils or plugs as they were changed. I changed batteries to a brand new optima redtop g35 battery and compression test told me everything was okay.
I let the car idle in one spot for 3 hours and no issue, no rough idle. after the 3 hours of idle i took it for a drive and 20 minutes into the drive it shut off and the same issue, wouldn't crank until 5-10 minute window. Any clue as to what it is?

Idle is where most of your carbon build up forms
. How old is your coil pac/plugs/plug wires. As some one mentioned a 3 hour idle begs the question....why idle for 3 hours ?, i can imagine the carbon build up?. How many times do you take the rpm's up ?. I try to ring the rev limiter every time i get it warmed up.Sounds like ignition in part?.

Gentleman, I'm trying to help a friend with retrofitting electric seats to his 2006 RX-8 with manual grey cloth seats.
We found a nice used electric seat, but it's red leather, and, naturally, he wants all the seats to be the same color. The electric seat has a plastic cover on the back of the seat. His grey manual seat doesn't have that. So, is it possible to remove that plastic cover, remove the leather seat cover, and use the cloth seat cover from his manual seats?
Has anyone done that?

Hey guys, this is my first post so go easy on me. I have a 05 Rx8 and was wondering if anyone here ever felt the battery was too weak for the car? Not sure if its my imagination but the more things i have on it seems things get "funny"

Have your cat converter checked.

Hello people, please bare with me. I have just bought an RX8 which was for sale as spare parts for 200GBP. I have noticed that the pictures I see of the instrument cluster have 2 buttons, one on the left and one on the right of the center gauge.
In mine, I only have the one on the left. Is this normal?
Does mine have 2 trip meters?

My car is a JDM model and even I have only one button. I think the US models came with a button to switch the speedo from mph to kph. Mine doesn't have that. Yours must be the same.

I just got a rear mid pipe installed and a side effect is it burns really rich and stinks like burning gas. My question is I just filled up with she'll nitrogen enriched gasoline for the first time and it has a completely different scent almost sour. I'm wondering if this is just the new gas or something else is failing haha... Eek. Silly question probably but appreciate an answer please and thank you. Mutz.

Is it common for the radio to have interference with a car charger plugged in? I've noticed any time I have my phone plugged into the front cig port I get static. As soon as I take it out it's fine.
I have the Bose 6 CD stereo, no problem with mine.
It's not common. That probably means you have a cheap Chinese junk phone charger. Try a better quality one or at least a different one.

Hello! I'm looking to have my RX8 sound a little louder. Everything is stock right now. I would like to know what is a nice cheap way to have a little deeper of a tone without making the car sound super loud?
I was looking into air intakes but I see that there are a lot of bad reviews on them and new pips seem to be too loud and a lot of money.
