That's hard to say.
Loud is subjective.
My wife thinks mine is loud with just a BHR midpipe and stock exhaust.
I don't think it is.
Not many cheap alternatives, tbh.

Yes I agree it is very subjective. I've been looking up videos to see what they all sound like. Thanks for your input! I will look into midpipes and see how they sound!

If anyone else has any suggestions let me know.

Thanks

Don't put "cheap" and "nice" in the same sentence. What exactly are you wanting?

Go with either racing beat or black halo racing midpipe for deeper tone. The Borla catback sounded pretty good and deep, not raspy.
Neither of those options are cheap. Search for used ones in the classifieds

Ya cheap and nice never go in the same sentence when it comes to the RX8 I understand. :p

Thanks for the options! I will look into them.

I was looking into air intakes but I see that there are a lot of bad reviews on them and new pips seem to be too loud and a lot of money.
The BHR will do exactly what you want as long as $450 is "cheap" to you. Otherwise, most of the other actual cheap midpipes are going to increase the sound by quite a lot. I know the Agency Power is blisteringly loud, not too sure about the Racing Beat. But still, can't beat BHR in quality and exclusivity to the RX8, they're awesome!

I just had my automatic transmission replaced. I bought one from JD enterprises, they are shipped from japan. The shop that did the install filled it with dextron 111?. I searched a sea of info here at the rx8 club , but it is a sea of information and i couldn't find any one saying exactly what they put in there autoimatic, mine is the dreaded 4 speed 2004 automatic. Of course Mazsda said don't use synthetic in the trans or the engine. They said i would ruin my motor, funny , i have been premixing for over 100,000 miles ?. What can i use in the automatic trans ?. Thank you folks.,

One more dumb question because i do most of my own work. I just finished the tweo core radiator swap and now its time for the up graded starter, the problem is thata the auto zones of the world do not really know what they are selling?. I am looking for the N3H2-18-400R-08 up graded for my 2004 automatic but i havent found it yet in my searches here on where exactly to buy the fore mentioned starter?. I went to advanced auto and auto zone and neither store could tell me if there starter was an up graded one or not because they have no information like 2.0 KW vs 1.4 KW or starter RPM?. Does any one know if the local auto zone or advanced auto is selling the up graded or the old tired 1.4 Kw starter or where to get a real up graded starter?. Thank you much my radiator went vey smooth because of the great DIY's here thank you.

Is it possible to back flush the radiator fins with water with the radiator still in the car? Do I need to remove airbox undertray, battery box & fan assembly to do this?

OK, Lets start with some REAL dumb questions folks!

OK OK, one of the funnest things is to start seeing a bunch of new akronyms being thrown around as if everyone knows what's going on. Well I dont

Can someone give a rundown of the basic nomenclature of the rotary world? Cant say I've seen any rosetta stones in the new member forum, and sorry it's not lazyness, it's a crappy internet connection that make research very painful. Hours of searching to find little bits of goodness and then not remembering where I found them.

Basically I'm just looking for every question I will ever have be answered in a single string...Is that too much to ask for HAHA

I have a 4 port 13B, got it. What's a FD (RX7? all of them?) What's an REW.

Also does an naturally asperated RX7 wipe it's bum with the renisis? I think i saw somthing like 270HP bare bones?

How does the handling of an RX8 compair to the older RX7's Would the best of both worlds be to swap an RX7 moter into my 8?

Should i just put full coverage on it and catch it on fire??? [Joking!....really...kinda ]

Here's a wikipedia page... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_RX-7

And no, an NA REW wouldn't get anywhere near 270hp, and swaps are hard.

I've torn mine to pieces and put it back together if that counts, what do you need to know?

Riddle Me This

So my Rx-8 is running great, but I notice that I'm getting a smell of fuel in the car, and a small fuel leak. So I do some research on this great forum, and check my fuel pump. Behold there is a crack in my spout that connects to the fuel line. So I bought a new fuel pump. It came in yesterday, and I took everything apart carefully, and installed the new one. I cycle the key on and off, and I can hear the fuel pump working behind me. Try to turn it over. Nothing. I go through the cycle process multiple times. Still nothing. So let's check the fuel pump. Take off the green clip. Gas squirts out. I have pressure, so it doesn't seem the fuel pump isn't working. The thing is the car still ran great with my old fuel pump. It's the only thing I've messed with, and now it won't start. Any help you guys can provide would be great.

Thanks,
Anthony

The instructions should be enough. It should have come with all the harnesses you need, so you just solder the wires from the radio to one harness and plug it directly into the big reddish harness.

There are no RCA cables, but if your radio has RCA out then you might have to strip off the insulation, solder the signal wire, and ground the shielding.

The instructions should really be enough, but there's also a DIY somewhere here.

Thanks Legot.

I'm rebuilding my calipers at the moment. I read some threads that say rca cables are needed. Others said use the instructions.

So I will follow the instructions to wherever it's yellow brick road leads me.

Thanks again

I'm just curious, how does a bad fuel pump cause flooding?

maybe stupid but just worried

changed my plugs, wires, and coils after having a misfire. Everything went fine got everything changed and car worked great..now a day later after driving normally, I decided to feel her in all of her new found Glory I revved each gear to around 8000 and got to around 100 mph. Nothing happened all was still good after then suddenly solid CEL with no misfires or anything noticeable. I got to autozone and got them to read the code and it comeback for the cat going bad. Now, does anyone know whether it would be from the misfire before I replaced plugs wires and coils or do you think I am having a misfire now and it just isn't noticeable? The car isn't losing power or anything with the CEL on but it's just worrying me.
