Interestingly found the first dealer did change plugs.
With the Wrong ones.

And, get this: They installed a leading plug in one of the trailing plug locations!

Now they tell me my clutch master cylinder is shot.

$500 estimate for the part..

Anyone got a part # for an RX-8 master cylinder?

it is more than likely the slave cylinder. a tsb is out on it. the part is ! 50 bucks at onlinemazdaparts.

Canadian Confirmation

So this just looked too good to be true and I never received anything in the mail!

But on Mazda Canada's website I found the information
http://www.mazda.ca/root.asp?lang=eng

Click Parts & Service
Then Warrenty

Skip the survery junk hehe

And its written right there!!!
WAHOO!!! I orgasmed twice on the spot!

Means I get to keep my baby another 3 years!!!!!
I was going to sell it once she ended in Jan 09 because I just couldnt chance owning it without a warrenty!

I haven't gotten mine yet and I haven't moved either. I wonder if they had a problem with delivering some of them? It seems to be the Guinness Bar Towel syndrome.

Yeah, having e-mailed MNAO and gotten a confirmation that my address had been updated and the package would be resent ... I still haven't gotten anything. However it isn't that long since I e-mailed. Excluding the holiday, I think that it is around ten business days.

Sorry, that you haven't gotten yours corners. Maybe you should try e-mailing? I wonder if anyone else hasn't gotten there's?

This new warrenty. Is it still for someone who does all the care maintenance themselves? Oil changes and replacing plugs yourself, if something does go wrong with the engine, can they say its voided since you've done all this yourself?

Is the warrenty only for those who pay the stealership for all maintence done on it?

I think you should be good if you have kept records of your oil changes et al. At least that's what the Service Manager at my local stealership told me.

The warranty applies to all 2004-2008 rx8's regardless of anything except you voiding that warranty with say a turbocharger probably. But the warranty is definitely real, got the paperwork from a sales guy at Mazda today.

Slight disagreement with your post a couple back.

Yeah, but you'll need to watch your mods(maybe take them off......depending), and I think you better have decent records.

Hey guys, I got a 04 rx-8 a couple of weeks ago. The car shakes when switching from "P" to "D". I am guessing its the motor mounts. Will the motor mounts be covered under this warranty? and if not how expensive would it be to replace them?
Thx a lot guys

The 100K 8 year only covers certain internal parts to the engine. It will not cover motor mounts.

Motor mounts are probably covered under the extended powertrain warranty of 5 years 60K Miles.

There is also a TSB for motor mounts in the car.

If you have some mechanical skills you could change the mounts yourself.

Technical Service Bulletin. Tells the service departments how to fix a known problem.

Anyone know what would void the extended warranty off the top of there head? Like putting Turbo would void it - but what about stuff like intake / exhaust?

Congrats Invasion!

Now, I still can't get a letter out of Mazda NA describing the warranty extension, much less the package that everyone else got, even though I have sent them two e-mails requesting it and having recieved two e-mails saying that they would send it.
