elf, really great to hear about a car with more mileage than mine! (And to know there is a 200k thread started!) I'm tired of always being the lead car with anything when I bring my car in for work around here...

I don't think I'll be catching you anytime soon... but I should pass the 200k mark in the next year or so, I'll be sure to have my camera handy!

Oh, and I have a whole mix of driving conditions... my daily commute has a reasonable amount of stop and go (though not usually grid lock) and I have done a lot of weekend trips of a couple hundred miles a pop that were mostly highway or open road.

My biggest issues have been around rust. I drive 24/7/365 including full on Blizzards up here in the North East... salt has not been my 8's friend. On my third set of oil cooler lines and fighting some cancerous rust around the rear wheel quarter panel and that stupid mud/snow/ice collecting lip at the front of the inside of the rear wheel well.

Well, I've been in the 100k thread for sometime and elf pointed out there was a 200k thread now! And as I'm just a few miles away from the 180k mark... guess I'm closer to 200k than 100k these days

Elf, did you ever dyno it again? Curious to see what kind of numbers 200K+ puts down.

Yup. Except for the Sohn Adapter and Mazmart Water Pump, everything is stock on the engine --- and original cat too. This engine never did dyno high --- it was always one of the lowest dynoed cars at the SoCal Dyno Days. My gut feeling is that 170s-180s is pretty much normal for a stock-engine (6 sp MT), stock-exhaust, stock-air-intake setup.

Can't wait til the next SoCal Dyno Day lol

BTW, as of this post, the engine is slightly over 215K miles ...

Finally got my 8 back from Vegas ... it's been there since the clutch (original OEM) finally gave out at the WHiV Meet in May, about 216k miles on the odometer. I'm really surprised it lasted that long.

Anyway, thanks to Ben (of Rotary Evolution) for replacing the clutch and diff (leaking like a sieve and howling/whining like crazy) this past weekend --- great service and reasonably priced.

OK, now back to adding more miles to this beast ....

Hey Pat, glad to see you got her back home. You going to join the socal crew at Mazfest or the car show in Ventura Harbor?

I would love to install the Sohn adapter, so that I could fill up my windshield reservoir with Pettit Racing Protek-R. Buy at this point it would certainly void my warranty

Awesome elf! Congrats. You give me confidence in my car!

I have greatly reduced my commute, so I should be good for a while before I join this club with you.
