Humidity helps cooling. Be thankful you are in a non-emissions state with relatively low temps and high humidity. Its good for tuning.

You are running the Int-X. The PCM has no learning to do.

In theory yes...but i have to wonder myself...since i had the straight pipe put on...the first few days it didnt seem to run as well as prior to the swap with the cat....about a week later she seemed to settle ....and now she runs like a top...with a bit more whp too...

it could be psychological but then again i cant be too sure...when youre in touch with the tune of your car its really easy to pick up on a change...

maybe my x has a poltergeist in it..

as long as you are not hurt i am happy for you... you will be able to buy a new 6at for much less than you likely paid for the 4at...

Well, what happened. I was traveling at about 45 50 MPH not speeding on a 4 lane road, I see a silver I think montee pull out about 75 ft infront of me, I see oncoming traffic in the left lanes, lay on the brakes and aim for behind his car and see a bunch of people in the parking lot so I go for his rear 1/4, wasnt about to take out any padestrians, air bags fly and I spin him around 90 degrees facing the way he was tryin to go, shatered 3 out of 4 rims on the curb. I remeber the guys in the other car lookin the oppisit way trying to get into reverse direction traffic while strait accross 2 lanes, morons. All in all I think any other car woulda killed me. Now, im still wired from it, thats why im up at 7 in the morning. Happy to be breathing, no more rides like that

Man that sucks! Glad everyone was ok. Melbourne is notorious for people pulling into traffic prematurely, and I've developed a sense that seems precognitive because of it. Couldn't tell you how many times some 80 year-old in his Lincoln Towncar has tried to use me to commit suicide.

They're on a truck right now that will eventually get to my house, unless some old guy in an Oldsmobile cuts out in front of it and wrecks...

Talking bye bye, wheel hop

So I went over to Marsredr100's house yesterday to check out his car and get some work done on mine. His car now idles perfectly with AC on and off, and man does it rev beautifully. Pretty damned awesome. If I hadn't gotten their so late (it was already dark) I would have taken some video of both of our cars, but it didn't happen. Anyway, next time I head over there, I promise I'll make some vids.

As far as the work on my car is concerned, we swapped out the shocks(MS), springs(MS), and sways (RB). Man, you have to do some !@#$#@! Houdini !@#$% to get that front sway bar out of there. He also installed the Mazsport cooling fan control mod, which really does only take like 10 minutes. He's one of the most organized people I've ever had the pleasure of working with on anything. Besides saving me at least 15 hours of work (that's at least how much longer it would have taken me if I had tried to install this stuff myself; probably more), he got me free shipping on the RB stuff. I would have definitely let this guy install my SC kit if I had not gotten the free install from Pettit.

My wheel hop is completely gone (Launched the car a few times on the way home), and boy can it TURN. The ride is a bit rougher though, but small price to pay IMO.

Feedback

Just got home from a 400 miles two day trip to my moms. Car was loaded with two adults, two kids (5 & 13) in the back seat and the trunk fully loaded. Temperatures were hovering between 90 and 98 degrees both days and of course, with the AC on. Driving speeds 75-95 mph (125 mph twice while smoking an M3 and a Mini-Cooper Turbo). Test end results: Wife never screamed, car handle like a dream, never got hot, son had a blast smoking the M3 and Cooper, power is smooth thru the entire power band, no need to downshift from 6th gear to accelerate, too bad it was only a 400 miles roundtrip. Once again, thanks to Cam at Pettit Racing, Scott at Mazsport and Racing Beat for making my car a Bad *** RX8

Gap

I set the gap (both leading and trailing) to .036 as you recommended. BTW, thanks so much for the advice. However I going to try using 3rd gen RX7 trailing sparkplug all the way around as Scott from Mazsport recommended before my dyno tune session at the end of the month. Will post dyno results and sparkplug feedback later on.
