I'll be in University Place on Sat for New Years at some friends house, so I doubt I can make it up for Friday night also. I need to grab the compression tester for when I swap plugs later, so that hand off can wait.

My motor swap was delayed a bit due to the "used" engine I was buying with 15k miles on it had worse compression than my engine in the car. Found another one up in BHam much cheaper and they claimed past compression, but I do get a 90 day return so ill need to do a comp check myself. Driving up on tuesday right after work.

Tonight is Resolution 2012 at WaMu Theater though! Juiced for that

what are u using to check compression?

 

There are a few of us that have compression testers in the NW

Kevin ( Nemesis8) has one (an OEM Mazda one)...and I have a Rotary Diagnostics one...I'm sure there are others as well.....

 

cool, I got a used motor too, they thought it had 70k and priced accordingly, it really had 18k on it, I installed it and it started up so fast it startled me, lol. anyways it would be nice to test it one day.

I have been reading about these special break in miles for new builds, does the dealership do anything like this after they do the install for the reman?

 

Don't think they really do much for recommending certain breakin rituals...they just give you the car back

I tink that most of the rebuilds have re-used bearings...so less of a breakin risk

Yup! But it had it's drawbacks.... I sprained my ankle pretty good. Now it's big and purple. And I'm covered in mystery bruises. Wtf??

Wasnt really not that much booze intake. The crowd was just so nuts. Energy was on par from when we went to see Skrillex.

 

I dunno. 3 shots chased by 3 largish glasses of champagne right off the bat is enough to get me a little drunk.
