Hey serega12... You don't happen to own the WWP that is often parked about a block away from a McDonald's in the day time? (I know, there are a billion McDonald's, but I just didn't want to be incredibly specific on a public forum. )

No, I'm usually parked at Intel during daytime.

X RX8, I might run into you sometime then. What do you do to drive all over Portland? Our cars aren't exactly the best on gas mileage, especially in traffic.

Really? What campus, and what do you do?

I'm an Engineering Technician in D1C. I've only seen two other 8's around Ronler, one red and one grey.

Im in no rush to get this car done. Taking my time. Everything will be done by myself; motor, turbo fabrication, cage and paint. Prob a 1-2 year project.

Nice project RawrX8, it will be cool to see that FD when it is running again. It looks like a good base to start from. What turbo are you going for?

My FD should be back on the streets in 2-3 weeks. Total down time: 4 months. What started with a transmission shifting issue turned into a rebuild of the engine, transmission, and differential because I thought while we are in there we might as well get some more power and then with more power comes better parts to handle the power. Now I will need bigger tires to put the power down. It never ends.

Here is a pic of my new daily beater, it should be a bit more comfortable and slower than the FD. It is quite an upgrade from my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire with 230,000 miles that I bought for $300.

viilee206, you should come out to the NW Toy Run if you live near Seattle. Sounds like a few RX-8 people are going.

The exact specs will be nailed down after I work out the total build process, but 76mm. Go go flipping truck manifolds with vbands!

It will be awhile Welding which one in? RX8 stays bolt in, FD of course is welded. You should have read your reg book I dont mind not having back seats. It makes stuffing my autocross wheels in the car easier; 2 go where passenger seat is, 1 slides through the trunk into back seats and 1 in trunk.

PS less quoting pictures of pictures

Truck manifolds? I didn't even notice you were building a turbo LSX car, that is going to be a fast car. Now I really need a ride when it gets done. I have been wishing I had built a turbo instead of all motor LS1 for the past few months because I love turbos so much but now I have the GT-R to satisfy my turbo urges. But I really wanted a high power simple and reliable all motor car for the track.

Be sure to take your transmission to Ellis at http://www.speedsecretsefi.com to get it built to handle the power and he is also the best tuner around. He has tuned some sick high HP turbo LSX cars. He is taking care of my FD now.

My orginal plan was a stroked LS2, but after the wishlist of parts I couldnt see doing it. Dad and his vast turbo knowledge suggested I just go 5.3 turbocharged. Motors are dime a dozen and it will be slightly different. I have an hour a day and few on the weekend, if I'm not exhausted. Will be a year plus build.

I won't be posting a build thread till I'm fully finished but when I make good head way I'll let you know. You and Kari can swing by and look.

My leather interior is sitting in my closet. I don't have the steering wheel.
