Can we have a Seafoam event Friday night and Seafoam smokeworks display in the early morning? I think I need to bring back some life into the Renesis.

Shaun,

I'm having low compression issues with my engine. I might step aside and let somebody take my slot. Not sure yet...

Yeah, I'm headed down the reman road it seems. I should have seen this coming. My commute shortened to work, and I don't have the proper amount of time to exercise the engine like the old days.

I agree with Brettus.

If the engine goes on the dyno, your car will have died a Warrior's Death

Seeing these compression numbers reminds me I need to follow up with the dealership about my results.

should run the dyno anyway- its not like running it will cause it to lose more compression....

would be more chance of the runs actually improving compression than the other way around

OK, looks like one more week on this engine will be OK. I'm still in for the dyno tune. It would be nice to see how the engine reacts to this type of tuning, no matter how borderline the compression is now.

Thanks for the call Shaun!

OK, I have my AP updated, and have installed the new base map. The car fired right up pretty much instantly. Warmed her up then went for a burger. She is resting right now for the night tucked away in the garage. I'll get my second drive cycle in on Sunday, then datalog Monday.

Awesome Kevin. Glad you're still in. I'm sorry to hear about the troubles. it will definitely be cool to see where your car runs with all the mods you have.

Not at all. I received a range of numbers and do not understand the format.

My invoice shows:

39819 1.00 Compression test completed all good at this time

Front rotor at 6.9 to 7.4 KG X 100
Rear rotor at 7.0 to 7.4 KG X 100
Min Spec is 6.8 KG X 100

Without RPM they are useless...unless they are normalized values to 250RPM

looks like a ratio... at least they provided a baseline, although the results are only as valid as it is. I hate relative numbers.

I know this is a stupid question. My plugs and coils were changed a little while after the compression was checked. Would the results still be the same?

Dannobre suggested in another thread to seafoam the engine. Which I'm going to do and then have the compression checked again.
