Saw a Winning Blue cruising around in Bel Air this afternoon. He gave me a wave, and I tried waving back, but I'm not sure if he saw it through my windshield.

Caught me at the perfect time, too. This is my second day with my RX-8 as well as my second day behind a manual transmission vehicle. I'm slowly getting the hang of it, though! I don't see too many 8s around here, so it was a nice little surprise. Who else lives in Bel Air?

I'll post some pictures later today.

If anyone is interested in going to Sevenstock 13 this September.

RIWWP has mapped out a great ride/caravan. I am about 90% sure of joining him, but its a bit away. If we manage to get a decent caravan 5+ we would like to propose some vendors or MNAO themselves for a gas sponsorship in return for advertising throughtout the nationwide trip.

You will need 8 days off of work.. so if your interested hope you can get PTO.

Check out RIWWP thread here https://www.rx8club.com/sevenstock-archive-186/riwwps-ss13-trip-successful-8-330-miles-197270/ for more info.

Very cool to come out of work and see another red parked next to me :-)

Is your car custom painted? It looks to be a darker red than VR. I like the custom front and carbon fiber on the interior.

There is a black in the next parking lot. Nice guy owns it.

Congratulations on the new ride and learning how to drive! I'm in Forest Hill and often go "in to town" to Bel Air. I have a very loud but stock-appearing VR. Rotr8 is around there too, and a few others.

Hi! I have been waiting MONTHS to park next to you! The car has been with the painter for a long time. And then I had to get it started after sitting that long. I have been watching the evolution of your car. Very nice! Do you also have a SUV? Like a gray explorer?

The car used to be VR, but I had some issues with my hood and I was also gathering dings so I decided to just paint it. The paint is basically silver with a bunch of coats of clear over that tinted with a red color to give it depth. The front bumper cover is a Mazdaspeed front but with the black plastic above the grill opening removed.

I actually had a carbon fiber hood (I damaged my stock hood and thought that the CF hood would be a good option) and, perhaps naively, took carbonRX8 as my user name because of it. My CF hood was not great quality and would ripple at triple digit speeds so I went back to the stock hood after having it repaired. But then I didn't have any CF! So hence some of the CF bits inside. Silly, I guess.

We should head to lunch sometime. Let me know a day and time if you want.

Hey Greg, have you come up for emissions yet? I just gutted my cat before last weekend's track day, and it's LOUD and shoots FIRE!

It's a stock cat I go from Dan just to gut, so even with the visual I should still pass (no CEL yet, and Cobb AP in-progress).

New guy here in Ellicott City. Bought a silver 06 about 2 months ago. Since then, I've replaced all the interior lights and parking lights with LEDs, tints, painted calipers. Clear corners soon and maybe a high flow cat. Any meets ever go on in Columbia?

Ive never been hassled, and I went up there with the RP catpipe. They just looked at the dash for any CELs. although there was an FC that went right before me with the typical brap brap brap and was cited for it. I was thinking ohh great this guy is going to get me busted, but I guess it had the opposite effect, as in his car was alot worse than mine so mine seemed pretty low key,,, The operator kept giving funny looks at all the gauges though, even the bosst gauge. I think the next time I go I will tape up the boost gauge, lol,,,,

I got a wave back from another VR on Jarrettsville at Manor on Tuesday.

As for emissions, I think I was thinking of somebody else who hasn't been through the "new" process yet since they dumped the rollers.

Well I don't live in MD anymore (just moved to Jersey yuch!) but I have a client in Gaithersburg (MedImmune) so you may see another lightning yellow touring with the factory spoiler from time to time. (I like to eat at Chevy's )

Anyone around the Fort Meade area (I know there are like 50 of you!) willing to check out a Miata for me?

Family Autos Inc.

684 MD Rt 3 North Gambrills MD
(On Rt 3 just south of the Rt 32 / Rt 97 interchange)

2001 British Racing Green special edition, 6sp manual, $6,795

Pictures (http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...aff=national#1) show a filthy engine and dusty exterior, not sure what it might be hiding. Missing it's OEM fog lights as well.

I'm not set on it, so if there is something wrong with it, be brutally honest and let me know. PM me if you want me phone number.

Welcome to the group. My husband and I live in Ellicott City too. He's got an 04 Winning Blue GT. We don't have a Columbia meet, but we have a monthly sushi meet. MD's month is June, you should come out. Here's the link to the thread:

MD Hey Marylanders, 2005 Grey RX-8 GT Manual for sale

Hey Marylanders,

Sorry I haven't posted much, but I have been waving at other RX-8s in the area (Laurel/Silver Spring) and gotten good responses. Anyhow, I have to sell my baby since I'm getting a company car, and I can't afford to keep the RX-8 as a weekender.

My car is a manual, titanium grey on the outside, black leather inside. It has all the features of a 2005 Grand Touring model (bi-xenon headlamps, power/heated seats, homelink and auto adjust night mirror, Bose speakers, CD, moonroof, etc.), plus pop-up navigation and Sirius Satellite radio. I've kept it stock and been meticulous keeping service records. It also has virtually new Pirelli winter tires on a second full set of stock rims.

I'm asking $13,850 ($1000 under Kelly Bluebook) or best offer, rims included. The company car arrives in late June, so I hope to sell it by then.

I haven't seen a lot of FS posts on the thread here, but I figured I'd start with people who were local, loved the car as much as I do, and knew folks in meets, etc. who might be interested.

You can contact me here, or by email at aaron.fate@comcast.net, or by phone at 202-352-5025.

Thanks,

Aaron

How is everyone, sorry I have not been posting much. My car is getting a bunch of SH*T done as you can see some of it in my sig. In the meantime I will be in my red miata. It should look pretty sick by next week hopefully!

I'll wave to the 8 guys anyway although I'm not in the 8 atm......

Talk about a terrible start to the day, I get in the car and begin my journey to school for summer classes. I get maybe 200 feet out of my parking lot and my clutch pedal sticks! I was unable to get it unstuck at the light so when the light came green I "squeeled" the tires and had to jam it into second. Luckily there was a Mc Donalds and I just parked it in there. Long story short car is being towed today and looked at tomorrow. Guess no school is a plus?

Part 2: Is this the infamous clutch bracket snapping or am I looking at a new clutch assembly? The clutch pedal goes in and releases sometimes but sticks for the other times. I have to shimmy my foot to get it loose. Any idea's?

clutch bracket is bad, need to spot weld it. Send a report to the national highway safety about this. If they get enough we all get recalls!!!!! At least I hope....

I'm the BB. Let me know if you guys do lunch one day. I spend most of my time driving, but I'm occassionally in the office around lunch-hour.

carbon, I like the paint job. I saw you guys parked next to eachother the other day...was going to park next to you, but I with an older co-worker and would've had to put up with too much sh*t

Sheesh, aren't we sad for not helping out!

I think Lauren (Lpr0293?) had a good experience at a shop in B'lair a year or so ago. She posted it in this thread so give it a search.

[QUOTE=wankelbolt;3620096]Sheesh, aren't we sad for not helping out!QUOTE]

I'd've helped, but I know BelAir like most people know the Wankel...the extent of my knowledge it limited to its existance; anything deeper than that and I'm one big

If you're ever in Rockville, there's a place there I can send you.
