Actually it would of been only 9-10 days, but yea....if you were looking for more alone time I hear SoCal loves da sausage so you could spend more time with them
I understand people have things come up that are more important at the last minute but I suspect most are bailing because someone else isn't going, and then another person bails because that certain someone doesn't go, like a chain reaction. Maybe it's just me but I don't go for one person, just to meet other 8 owners and hopefully have a good time.

No plans for next year yet.
Whether or not I go this year depends entirely on if I am still with my current job when the time arrives.
If I get a job elsewhere and have to move before then, then I likely won't be able to take the time off, even if I don't end up needing the trip funds for the move.
If I get a job and get a 2-week break between this job and that one that lands on that time period, then it's still off, as I will likely have to spend that 2 weeks moving and stuff.
If we get to ~3-4 weeks out from the trip, and everything here has quieted down and a new job won't be coming along until at least mid to late October or later, then I will likely still be taking the trip.
I don't want to move back near the DC area, but Chesapeake is in easy driving distance (yeah 3hrs is easy for me), 11 miles from the border to NC, so I can live there and avoid actually living in VA (something I don't want to do, taxes, registration, etc...), and the opportunity is with the US Coast Guard, civilian status, ground floor opportunity with a command only a bit over a year old and a new position that will expand, so it's a really really great option.
Also helps that my brother is in the CG and stationed in Norfolk about 15 minutes from there, and plenty of other advantages in location.
Kane is even stationed nearby...and that's gotta be worth something

haha I agree. it sounds like a good opportunity, hopefully it works out for you.
NC is such cheap living to.. I have family that lives down there and does all their work up here in MD, DC, VA.. 2 trips a month pays for 2 months.

Sorry, it's just that so many people are losing jobs and I feel bad everytime I hear about it, especially when most people nowadays can hardly find jobs. I guess its better being internal?
I need a break from the hosipital, I think to much.......

So... who's the guy with the black 8 that I was driving behind for a few minutes earlier this afternoon?
We exchanged a friendly thumbs-up and wave through his driver's side mirror and that was that!
Don't really see too many 8s here in Bel Air...
