booo! I don't get off work until 5:30.... BOOO!

 

I mean the whole sliding part, there are tabs on the under side that glide through rails with black Teflon clips on them, well on my car the whole tab is broken off. As a result every time I brake hard (that is...every time I brake ) the slider tries to close on my soda, water bottle, pretentious 5 dollar coffee or delicious snowball.

 

I think that could work for me. Gives me enough time to sleep after work and gets me back to Frederick in time for work Saturday night. PM me a contact # and let's do this!

Ah that sucks, I would say we could wait for you but once the sun goes down the wildlife comes out, You pretty much have to go in the afternoon to avoid it

 

Yup its rt 9 west all the way to Paw Paw

However, we've gone every Saturday for the last month and a half so there's always next weekend

 

sounds good...thats a great ride up through there, i used to go up that way all the way to brandywine wv for a family reunion every year

 

Wow, that's quite a little tradition you've got going there. I'd love to drive mine that much but I don't think I could afford all of the gas! Psyched to participate this Saturday tho, thanks for the invite!

Yeah, both of mine split down the seam about two weeks apart, so I unscrewed both of them and just tucked the plugs back. It sucks when I'm driving directly into the sun, but it's better than paying $100 to fix them both.

 

Radiator replacement today, if there isn't a DIY yet I'll make one.

 

Hope the install goes easily for you, there is a DIY already btw.

So my power steering is completely fucked, both worse and differently than before...
Now when you turn the wheel the power steering motor fights to keep the wheels straight... Sigh.
I'm starting to think I'm not going to have a choice but to get rid of this thing.

 

does it feel like a it wants to lock in place/notchy when turning? If so it's a very inexpensive repair.

Yeah I heard that the fixes can be pretty basic, but what I'd do is just buy a new power steering unit recover a core charge and let it be someone else's problem

 

At first it was clunky/gear grinding in certain spots, then it was really bad sticking in spots makes nasty grinding noise, then it was grinding/always fighting to try to make the wheels straight when you try to turn and now it grinds/locks in positions and then power steering shuts off completely.

Once the power steering shuts off it turns fine, it's hard to turn, but no grinding or knotchiness...

 

Oh also, from my last go around I already:

Cleaned all connections
Replaced power steering harness
hard soldered connector plug above radiator
Replaced power steering rack

And today Chris let me try his EPS control module, and still no dice. Oh also I cleaned/greased lower U-Joint.

If anyone has any suggestions I'm open to them. On the powersteering failure thread the current suggestion is replace my main wiring/control harness, and I really think that is something I'm not willing to deal with.

That review was definately the best I've ever seen.

 

Wish I could have stayed longer yesterday (and could have gone to the BBQ). But I had a good time and at least I got to ride along on one of Jon's runs. Maybe next time I'll be able to enter my car and have Nate give me some pointers. Sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to everyone after their heats - I was in a rush!

And Chris, I definitely want to hear that BHR midpipe when it's on. I'm suspecting issues with my cat and seriously considering ordering one.
