So when is everyone meeting tonight.
If we are planning a "show-n-tell" or helping with any mods, maybe we should be there before sunset.

Sunset is at 7:45 so it's gonna be a little tough to get anything done if Johnny Malloys doesn't have good lighting. Although these are just clear corners. It takes about 10 minutes and I'm fairly certain I could do it blind IF I had a beer in one hand.

 

And it isn't like we can't rip out reflectors inside the bar. And past that you can't see **** when you install them anyway so it can be as dark as it wants to be. :P

 

If you're going blind with a beer in one hand, what are you doing with the other?????

 

as for the blue lights which i mentioned, they shine white. so i'm not worried about "ohio law".

i'll check the diy section. maybe i can get them done before i get there.

Oh and of course on the way to work this morning i got behind some flat bed truck which drove through a mud puddle somewhere (WTF is there mud anyway? hasnt rained in a week!!!) and now my front is all splattered. So i'm hitting the car wash before i get there.

quick question about this evening... anyone bring their wives/girlfriends, etc? My wife always liked coming along when i did car outtings with some friends in Beechwood. But she also doesn't want to be the only girl there. One thing we both have is a great appreciation for each other's personal space and activities. So, i wanted to see what was happening so she could plan her night of either joining us or doin her own thing.

 

My wife would love to come, but this is the last weekend we have her daughter before she goes back to her father's in Massachusetts.

 

I was thinking I would be up there around 6.30 ish... But me, alone at a bar for awhile is not a good idea...
What time can *most* of you all make it?
Lets def set a time that works for most of us.

Personally, I very much dislike the blue lights. The DIY thread isn't very helpful and it leaves me thinking there has got to be a better way to pull those out of there. We can talk about it tonight... But yea, the lack of front license plate compounded with blue parking lights (that sometimes flash because of the poor LED quality) is more of a cop magnet than an overturned donut truck on 77.


In regards to the womens; My g/f is in Orlando - She thinks I'm a huge nerd for being part of an owners club. So, she would go if she was here, just to make fun of me.

Lastly - no midpipe yet.

 

i'm lookin at getting there between 7 - 730. I am off work around 5. Get home, changed, wash car (just need to get that splatter and road dust off... not doing a whole detailing). Shouldn't take me too long so most likely be there at 7 but 730 at latest.

An ex-gf who lives down the street and her friend might show up. I wouldn't bet on it but your wife may have some female company.

I have no idea when I'll get there. My wheels are in transit and if they end up at the Akron UPS station off Wolf ledges I'll probably go there first. If not I'll probably get there around 7ish. I never have a problem being at a bar by myself.

I think I've got my MazdaSpeed hat in the car so I'll bring that in and throw it on the bar/table I'm sitting at. Otherwise just look for the tools drinking beers while they try to work a reflector or two out of some clear corners...

That reminds me. I've got your brake fluid and will be bringing it tonight. If you've got 4 jack stands (or a lift!) you can do it yourself with a little help from Luigi or Mario. If you don't let me know and I can either loan you mine or help you out sometime. Weekends are packed but I might be able to help Monday or Tuesday. I had my 11 year old nephew (wait.... 12? crap) work the brake pedal for me.

You can also do it w/o the stands but I don't know if the extra aggravation for a full fluid swap (rather than just a bleed) is worth it.

YupYup...sounds like tons of fun. I was talking to a coworker that does it as part of their VW Club twice a year. He said it is a blast but warned me to be careful because they have about 2 accidents down there per trip.

 

well that was a fun get together tonight. Hope everyone got home ok and ticketless.

Cant make the run tomorrow, sorry. We've got house hunting planned and it will take a while it sounds like. But the next get together i'll be there as well if it was as good as this.

 

I don't know what was up with that traffic tonight...gahd damn. Stupid turnpike people...but I did make it home without incident.

As for tomorrow it is at 430 PM out in Richfield. They are going to take us on a spirited cruise and then afterward we are heading over to the Brunswick Winking Lizard I think it is for a car show and drinks. If you can make it...cool...if not...we'll see you in a month.
