Not this car.

Besides rent it out for $20 a lift and you'd make your money back in a couple years. I just can't believe the one I ordered hasn't arrived at Mark's yet. Sure - I bought it direct from Singapore for $58 but still I was pretty sure it'd be here by now...

That was me and i love it. Will post pics after lunch if you want.

Also, got my name changed. No longer Obsidian (my old car was all black, 22% tint, night shaded tails, etc...) seemed approrpiate as i had same plans for getting black RX8. But got a great deal on a Shinka and said screw trying to keep a black car clean anymore!

I'm going to try to make it. I thought I was going to be taking depositions in a really weird case I'm defending, but it's looking now like they're going to be postponed.

How's this for a damage theory: "I was deaf, and after I was bumped on the head I can hear a little bit now, and it's driving me crazy."

Just tell them to wear ear plugs...problem solved; I assume they think a crap load of money will solve all their "crazy" hearing but really thats only if they wad it up and plug there ears again.

Don't install them without taking out the reflector! It makes it look so much better by pulling that thing out. I did that this past weekend and took a pic of what the thing looks like.

If he gets 'em tomorrow we can work taking them out at the bar and then install them before going home. I thought he was gonna bring a short shifter to the meet tho. Those are a lot more easier to install while drinking.

My wheels are sitting in freakin' Hodgkins Illinois.... Better make it by tomorrow damnit.

wow...my reflector looked nothing like that when I was done. Mine was more of a spiraled metal mess.

It was surgical precision right there. And the beer cap isn't there for scale, its there cause I was thirsty.
yea, that was the 2nd attempt after I figured out what I was doing.

The first one ended up looking like two bent up staples wrapped in foil. It wasn't good.

No sign of the midpipe yet either

Unless the previous owner put a STS in, i didn't. Just the ****.

Also, i got the clears in! woohoo... but ummm... how the hell do you get that reflecter out of there? that's what we're doin tomorrow, LOL. I spent a little bit of time working on each of them and got no where what-so-ever. Didn't want to cause permanent damage, so i figure just put them in and show up tomorrow to work on them.

They look great though otherwise!

There are a bunch of different methods out there for removing the reflector. None of them are "easy". Check the DIY and you can see 2 in there. I tried both and wasn't getting anywhere so I just used a pair of long nose needle nose plyers and bent it until I could rip it out. You can't even tell by looking at them that anything happened. However, as Vyndictive found out at the BoneYard...there is a BIG difference in how they look.

i found yellow LED lights. They are clear so they don't show through the lenses but when lit, they shine yellow. I like it. Nice clean look... doesn't remind me of an egg yoke.

If anyone is interested, my clears came with a pair "ultra white" bulbs. They are blue in color but shine allegedly super white. /shrug... regardless, i am not using them so first come first served at the get together tomorrow if anyone wants them.

As for pulling out the reflecters, i guess i dont have narrow enough needle-nose pliers. I could get hold of a little bit of them but nothing substantial enough to grip and pull. i pried around with a small screw driver but it was about as useful.

previous owner bought stealth yellow bulbs... don't care for it personally...
I'd rather go white, but I have blue parking lights. so I have white, yellow, blue, and bluish fog lights... its all over the place.

Also, shinka, if you bring the clears to the meet, I will pull them out for you, or show you how to take them out and you can use the level of care you would like. I was mean to mine. I'll trade my services for your short shifter

The DIY thread helps though.

That color scheme would would make sense if you're from Argentina.....
Sorry, that was the only flag I could find with those colors.... I'm bored at work!

I can't believe this... Rockwell wants me to come in today (Friday) from 6:30pm - 7:30pm for an Emergency Marshall training class.
I told them I have other plans... like drinking with my fellow RX8 buds!
It was real tempting when they said that I'll get paid for 4 hours, even though I would only be here for 1.
Oh well... not a big deal!
I just hope this meet turns out better than the last... we'll see!

Watch those blue parking lights. We had this discussion on another thread. They're illegal in Ohio. You cannot display any colors other than white or yellow at the front of the car, lest it be mistaken for an emergency vehicle. it's nitpicky, and I have never heard anybody ticketed for it. But it is an excuse for a ticket if a cop wants to get picky with you. Of course, none of us speed, or anything, so that shouldn't be an issue............ I was going to put in blue bulbs and was warned against it.
