Its crazy that they post where they are going to be.
Wouldn't you want to surprise them.
That's like warning speeders that a cop is ahead.
People are just going to avoid it.

Sounds like it, but it's not. I've been a medic for the past 4 years. It's now my time for a hardcore dive into the world of cardiopulmonary service. Enter: Respiratory Therapy program.....

Good for you man... and I respect you for going through all this at a young age.
My step-father was a medic, so I know how that was like for him.
My father was an EMT-I and I was only an EMT-B (I couldn't afford to stay with the department after my 5th year).
I really wish I could have stuck with it like you... but the fire dept wasn't paying the bills.
Good luck and I'm sure we won't see much of you for the next couple years, but its understandable.

No. People won't because most people who they catch driving drunk aren't too bright to begin with.

They legally have to publish locations. Essentially what they are doing is a huge violation of our constitutional rights and the only way they're able to do it is by publishing the locations. Even then it's still BS but the courts let it go most of the time because of the perceived value to society.

It's the same reason cops can't just bust into a house that they 'think' has criminals in it or why they can't use profiling to question someone getting on a plane. Stopping people on the street for no reason just to check if they're doing something that isn't legal but that no one can tell isn't legal really isn't that far from fascism.

Thanks for the good wishes, and I totally understand what you mean. Unfortunately Northeastern Ohio is saturated with medics and that makes finding a good paying job hard to find. I know a few medics who were working fire jobs that were making $6.50/hr to start! (I ceratinly wasn't one of them!)

Getting into a hospital system is where the money and the benefits are in this area. Plus it pushes you to go to the next step in the medical world. Almost all of the medics I work with here are in nursing school. Personally, nursing isn't for me, so I decided to go for something a little more specialized.

I often wonder how the hell I ended up in the medical field. Maybe it's another one of my alter-ego's.

Race Car Driver (hey, someday).....Jeep Enthusiast......Gun Lover.....Video Game Star.....Respiratory Therapist!?

Oh well.... As we've established, something's got to pay the bills. I'll roll with it....

That's because a lot of cities now require you to be a Paramedic and have gone through the 160hr FF training (if my memory serves me right).
I know Streetsboro always had a problem where individuals would come off the streets with basic fire and basic EMT training, the city would pay for their class/training, and then after their training, would leave and go to another city!
Can't blame the cities for not wanting to waste anymore money, but it makes it harder for others to progress up on their own.

Speaking of keeping a job, I have to be at work in 6 hours... I better get to bed!

Even the full paramedic, 240hr firefighter trained guys are having a hard time.

Six hours till work? Holy S, Batman!

That is one thing I miss about being on the streets.....naps during down time.

ROFL! Those were from the other day. Never let a girl just go wild with an iPod while you're driving. I can't see my sig at work because it is a social networking site that gets blocked...which doesn't make any sense since they promote you going to MySpace and Facebook now. Anywho...does it show the back to back to back Bon Jovi songs?

Sure, blame it on the woman.

There's only one Bon Jovi song on there now. That's exactly why I don't partake in those "social networking' sites. Eventually someone's gonna find it that you didn't really want to see it and you'll get emabarassed.

True to Life story:

I was cruising the net one late night at work when decided to hop on to a local radio station's site to see what was new. I noticed that someone had a screen name that sounded really familiar, so I clicked on the profile. It turned out it was a former co-worker from a previous job. Along with some pictures from his job came a self-taken picture of his private parts. Yes, folks, the dumbass took a picture of his junk and posted it on a local website.
Needless to say that was the end of my browsing of his page. F'ing sick, I tell you. Some people are just not the brightest crayons in the box.

Where are we meeting again? Address?

I'm putting an offer in on a house tomorrow. . . but I should be able to make it up there Friday. Hopefully I'll have the midpipe by then and you all can help me install it.

Further - we all have music on our ipods that somehow got on there and we're not proud of. However, when you link your play list to the forum as such, get ready for anything because you're asking for it.

Ok, I'm going to go for a cruise and listen to Wilson Phillips... I mean, Phil Collins... damn!

However, no one should ever be ashamed of Bon Jovi. I'm taking a stand on that one right now. Livin' on prayer is at least as good as Don't Stop Believing by Journey.

Yeah... we'll jack the car up in the middle of the parking lot after a few drinks.

I have Oasis on my iPod? What is this world coming to? :P Anyways...I really like Last.FM. Takes no work on my part and proves how bad the iPod random really is. Honestly it is nice to be able to answer "What's your favorite band?" or "What's your favorite song?" with something other than _____. It is also really cool to see what other people with similar music tastes are into.

Sweet, sounds good...

. . . and I was sort of thinking I would watch everyone's drinks while you go put the pipe on the car. . . Come on.

Oh, and I found the perfect garage accessory for the new house on ebay:

Too bad I was intoxicated at the end of the auction and never bid on it. . .
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...279730986&rd=1
( I know we're not supposed to link to ebay auctions, but this one is ended, so, come on)

Its a 4ft x 10 ft Vinyl dealer banner introducting the "all new" rotary powered rx8. It was sweet!
