Doc with this parts car that you now have is it VR by any chance. And if so are the drivers side fender or the hood up for sale? Something fell on my car at some point and scratched and dented my hood and fender.
It looked like in your other posts you guys were thinking of doing all this on the 19th? I'll plan on making a drive back up to the area that weekend if that is the case.

Memorial Day weekend is open right now for me. Also, we could do it up at your place if you're worried about the drive down. Tools required aren't too bad, a good socket set and some allen wrenches should do it, plus jack and stands, etc.
Well I can do it where ever as long as it doesn't throw the alignment off majorly. This is obviously my first full suspension swap, but the only weekends I'm available are this weekend and the first weekend in June. I also have coils and wires to do, but I will likely get those out of the way this Saturday.
Doc...How are the exhaust shrouds on the donor car?

Part out update:
I'm assisting Doc in liquidating some of the parts from the Red Racer from when it was caged and turned into a dedicated track car. So basically, I have the interior.
I'm inventorying the parts and documenting them this week and I should have the part out thread up next week.
So, no exhaust shrouds and no control arms in this round.

In looking at this, the only thing I could think of at the time was that they tried to salvage the HVAC system. . . but that can't be true when the blower motor was located in a different box.
I'll have a good idea of everything I have by Monday.
ow...

zero deductible...
long story short, semi-truck in front of me on the way home kicked up a piece of broken muffler that was on the highway. piece of it hit as you see. it also scratched some of the paint a little further up the hood but doesn't look like it went to the metal as well as dinged up the emblem but the damage is washed out by the shine.
so... should i go mazdaspeed bumper or stick w/ stock?

i was more than 2 car lengths behind it and had a car to my left and behind me. the shrapnel just bounced like an american football on a good bounce after a punt or kick off. wasnt a matter of "bad choices", just bad circumstances.
Doesn't sound like the 19th works for Taylor.

I have autocrosses on saturday and sunday, so that's not going to work for me, but I don't know about any body else.
It's a shame the suspension thing didn't work out this weekend. But i'm not in that big of a hurry. I've had rear spring sag since i first owned the car. So whats a few more weeks or months.
I do need suggestions for troubleshooting a new problem. My trunk won't release unless i use the key hole on the tail light.
Things I've checked.
Keyless Remote doesn't make it work
Button under dash doesn't make it work
I tired to look for a fuse but didn't see any labeled Trunk. Is it lumped in with another fuse?
What else should I look at?

It's actually really really easy to install the suspenion on an RX8.
If you have a 12mm, 14mm, and 17mm in sockets with some extensions you can take all four corners of the suspension off in about an hour tops if you are going slow.
If you need to reuse the top hats you can "rent" a spring compressor from autozone and do it yourself.
It would be much easier and faster to learn how to do it then waiting forever for someone else to do it considering most of us are pretty busy with other things. Don't know if you noticed, but this board is pretty much dead. You may want to just start turning bolts if you ever want this to get done.

I realize everyone is busy, but like everything on a car doing it at least once can knock hours off of a project. I am very capable of doing it myself I just want some pointers and extra hands. The local friends I have are either truck people who use a hammer and torch to fix everything or have no mechanical knowledge what so ever lol
Hey everyone,
It’s been a while but I got rid of my 8 for a 5 door, pearl white, Mazda 3 SkyActiv, 6 speed, (the only one in the region according to Mazda of Kent) .
I have a few things ‘left over’ if anyone is interested locally.
I have 3 qts of Premix ($2 each).
OEM regular floor mats (drivers is worn over a few years but other 3 are OK) $20.
4 OEM rubber winter mats $20.
Trunk organizer (Part# 0000-8D-K01) $25.
And a rear headlight leveling sensor (I got from Steve I think) $25.
PM if you are interested. I’m living in Stow currently but am moving back to the East Side of Cleveland late summer.

Got a BMW 335ix fully loaded, Not really sure if the RX8 even has a blown engine. Hell it could be injectors.
Maybe I'll come back to ohio one day to check. For now, hello from the DC area
