Well, I feel like an idiot, I have been searching for local meets on the forum for the past 2 summers but I guess I never saw this thread...

ANYWAY I live in Richfield, so I would definitely be down to meet. Still at the boneyard? Does anyone meet during the winter?

 

We might get together after the holidays, but its been pretty quiet as of late.

 

Now that the salt is being rinsed off the road i'd be willing to take the Rx8 out again. It hasn't moved in over a month.

 

So today i was stuck in the summit mall parking lot for 45 min. Finally a roofer came next to me and gave me shingles to get out! Damn i need snow tires, do all you have snow tires?

 

Yessir, I know I do. Just used up my old pirellis and got some blizzaks on yesterday. I'll let you know how they work.

 

My RX8 stays in the garage all winter, but I've always made sure to put snows on any performance oriented car I drive in the winter. I currently have Blizzaks on the 335is and had them on the 370Z. I learned my lesson years ago when I nearly destroyed my M3 because I thought it would be ok to drive around on Michellin Pilots with only an inch of snow on the ground.

It always cracks me up when non-car oriented people think they're good to go because they have front/all wheel drive and then wonder why they slide around on their half bald all weather tires.

 

I have a winter vehicle, though I do have snow tires for my 8 just in case my H2 goes down.

 

I am on my second winter on the blizzaks. love them! great traction in snow. pulling up hills is a breeze.

Oh yeah love these blizzaks. I was able to get traction in 3-4 inch deep snow ( basically an un-plowed road) on a slight incline.

 

Anyone here live in or near Columbus? There is an 09 GT I am looking at on Autotrader and was wondering if someone were in the area if they could take a real look at it for me as I am in Denver.

 

I actually mean Cleveland, is there anyone in Cleveland who would be willing to take a look at an 8 for sale at a dealership. I am looking to see what kind of shape the car is in, rust, dings, paint (hood especially) and how it drives. And of course the normal Rx8 things to look for. It is at Montrose Westside Autocampus in Cleveland (9600 Brookpark RdCLEVELAND, OH 44130).

 

I just checked back here today, unfortunately I am leaving for my last semester of school tomorrow so I will not have time to look into it. GL otherwise tho.

Glad it warmed up a bit. All that negative degree weather made my car throw a couple CEL's. A sensor. bank one sensor 2. but it always cleared itself after a day. Could set your watch to it. car never behaved different. just had a fart because of the cold. other than that the car was amazing. -16 was the coldest I have seen on startup and the car always started right up. With the Blizzaks I haven't had a problem. I never got stuck even though my car is lowered. sometimes I was pushing snow in front of me but the car never ever even had a hickup. there's a huge hill on 82 in North royalton I drive up daily and in the worst snow all cars were struggling to get up it. even awd cars. The Blizzaks gripped and gripped and gripped. In deep snow they are truly amazing.

hey i have an rx8 had it for 8 months im have a dilema i took it too the o'reillys and they said it was a miss firing piston 1 dont know what that means sense it has mo pistons can anyone help

 

missfire is most likely ignition related. coils plugs and wires. get it fixed asap. misfires lead to clogged cat which leads to blown engine

 

hheyy thanks but i changed the spark plugs this summer not the wires :/

 

most members here change all coils wires and plugs at the same time. while your at it clean the ess and maf
