How often do you guys do meets in the summer?

Can't make it Friday. Busy with work then going to the Cavs game 3 watch party at The Q in Cleveland.

About once-a-month but between Nelson's Ledge's Fundays, working on everyones cars on weekends, Cleveland6Club meets, and autoX you can probably find someone doing something every week.

Update: Fixed the issue. Brian was right, it was a connection. The connection to my wastegate. I pulled on the wastegate hose a bit and it tore off. So I replaced the hose and seems ok now!

So what time are we trying to do the photo at the boneyard? I'm need to know to I can drive my 8 through some mud and mess everything up.

And I forgot if I'm supposed to bring anything for anyone else.
Jon - Manifold

uhhh, I think thats it?

Pick up:

Rotors from Doc
Rotors from Ryan? (still on the car I'm thinking because I haven't heard you buy new ones yet.)
BOV from Danc -possibly now that the problem is fixed

Stuff not to forgot to give to me!

Ryan - Hawk Pads
Brian - Super sweet sticker to make car go faster.
John: bring your netbook so I can check it out.

You forgot something, but don't worry, I added it.

I need some help making an avatar pic too if anyone's bored. I was told it has to be done with Photoshop which I don't have.

oh, and put one of those happy faced suns in there too.

Awesome. Glad to hear it is working

Steve: I set an event reminder to bring said sticker. I wouldn't suggest putting it on though as the meet, you'll want to do it in a controlled enviroment. The amount of power this thing gives you ludicrous.

Jon - did you see this?

It's too much for me to get but if you get it I'd be happy to throw $50 your way for a test. I'm sure a few other guys would do the same.

Hmm... this is interesting.

But what are we really looking at here? We can test our own, and if they're bad, we take it to a dealer, pay them to compression test, argue with them about stock parts... then maybe they'll replace the engine under warranty...

But I do see value in someone purchasing this: I'll be willing if we can get 3-4 people willing to toss in 50 bucks or something.

You've got it right. If you test it and you see that the compression is low on one face (or both) then you know it's worth it to go to the dealer. If both values are near the same then you are probably fine. If one is significantly less then the other then you know you're engine is probably close to done.

It costs between $100-200 for a compression test but only if you pass. If your engine fails and needs a replacement then they pick up the tab for the test. It also lets you remove any mods before bringing it in for testing.

Ideally your engine is fine and because this gives you repeatable results it will allow you to track the compression, based on this tool, and know if your engine begins losing compression.

Besides we can get together for a meet at someones house and do this to everyone's car which would give us a huge amount of data to base the strength of our engines on.

The Mazda compression tester runs over $1000 on the competition site. There is another site (http://rotarydiagnostics.com/pricing%20combined.htm) that sells them for $370 for a single-rotor tester or almost $700 for a two-rotor tester but that one needs a PC and software to show the results.
