Well the ignition kit is finally done and on the car. Still need to get the correct wires but these are working for now.

I feel like the idle is about the same the car feels much smoother while accelerating though and it also pulls a little harder from 6500 to redline. Overall im happy with them.

James are you alive still? I need to ask you something about the BHR kit. It pertains to the plug wires.

My rough start ups still show up on occasion even after I replaced the coils. Wondering if I need to do something like that too.

Sorry to butt into the conversation but I'm trying to get as many STL area rotor heads as possible together in the spring. I created a group on Facebook and we've got a few 8 owners and quite a few 7 owners but the more the better. http://Facebook.com/groups/STLRxClub

Hope to see some
of you there
Joe

I'm always looking for some rotary events, be sure to let us know if you set a date for any events.

I'm trying to come up with a good reason not to go after those work cr kai's in the for sale section lol. so tempting...

Damn, thats sexy.

IDK whats up with the weather but im loving it. Gonna go to lindbergh tomorrow night I think if anyone else wants to.

So an update with the ignition. The car has to crank over about two times before it fires which is weird almost like its bad coils. But once its running it feels amazing. IDK its weird.

Mine is kind of the same way. It runs rough for 10-15 seconds and then it runs perfectly.

AJ, I am not back in STL til the 17th, but I would be able to make the drive down if we wanted to get something together. Not sure about tomorrow night Adam.

DEAD Around here.

Im gonna be putting my cat back on soon. So that means the midpipe is coming off. Ill sell it for 60 dollars for anyone that wants it. Then the plans are to replace the engine undertray since its cracked bad. And maybe reaplce the exhaust shrouds. Then go pass emmisions and saftey inspection and get new plates.

That leads me to which plate to get. I have a few in mind. Let me know what u guys like.

I know what you mean, I need to have my car inspected in july so it looks like I'll be putting my Cat back on as well and taking it right back off lol.

Does your license plate have to be 6 letters? I'd have it say TURTLE because thats what you gotta do to get over bumps lol.

BTW lets go BAMA!!

Well, if your obsession for low keeps up Adam I would have to put that in the plate. If you could get LOW RX8 that would be sick.

The obsession for low is coming to an end. Its still staying low but no lower. Its just about at the perfect height I think.

Advice needed

I am 2 hours south of st. Louis with an 09 rx8 with 30k on it. The local Mazda dealer says I do not need and the factory maintenance does not require coils or plugs at 30k. I thought I read somewhere that we should change. The car is running great and the only complaint I have is that mpg is always under 18, mostly 16 in city.

Do you guys think I should change plugs and coil?

^ if your not experiencing any symptoms of coils your coil wearing our (rough idle, misfire, etc...) then you should be okay. I would recommend replacing spark plugs and wires though if you haven't yet. Also look into the BHR coils, would be great preventative maintenance to avoid having any issues common with the stock coils.

Ya adam I was on manchester heading to work lol. were you driving your 8 today or the stang?
BTW I also bought a set of rpf1's, the urge for those sexy wheels was just so strong!! haha. want to get some colored lugnuts and was wondering which color you guys would go with, blue, purple, red?

Offset and tire size AJ? I would just go with blue or black.

It sure wasnt too nice of a day for driving thats for sure. The lil mustang barely made it like always.
