for $2k I can only assume it's not getting all new rotor springs/seals/bearings i.e. re-using these parts as you can

That would be correct to an extent. It definitely does not include a pair of new rotor housings and some seals you practically never want to re-use, especially in a Renesis (Side seals). All of our engines have resurfaced flat housings and modified 3rd gen RX7 corner seal springs. You're better off not replacing a broken in bearing if it's in great shape but we do replace them as necessary. Apex seals are scrutinized, measured and replaced as necessary. $2000 is definitely a starting point only.

I imagine we'll know what direction we're going in terms of manufacturing methods (There are different options available to us) by the end of January. I don't envision having product to market prior to March but they will be well worth the wait .

thanks for the clarification

Are you doing 6-port on exchange or rebuild&return?

Re-build and return will be the most common method, however, the auto (4 port) that I presently have in stock I am doing exchange on with a core charge. I will take this approach from time to time.

I'm guessing that a good recommendation for your application would be similar to what we have built for Grand Am race teams including ceramic seals and new rotor housings.

and all of this almost in my backyard! I wished now that I had asked for a day at Mazmart with the gang for Christmas. But--hey--Christmas can be just about anytime cant it?
Ditto--on the waterpump Paul, one question --can you also get a barrel type 180F thermostat?
I ---still---would like to see an electric water pump--!
After the holidays I am thinking of buying the cheap one through Summitt. Doing the dyno with and without (with Charlies help I hope) and see the results. I would not be surprised to see 10-15 horses set free. Then that will get the people's attention. This idea has to come. There are bigger reasons to have it than the extra horses to the wheel. Sorry--getting on my soapbox here!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!

Your wish is my command, a day at Mazmart you shall have. By the way, Rick can also modify a stock thermostat. That's an option to consider.

no, the engine rules in my current class are stricter than GrandAm; all OE parts only, no internal mods, even alternate corner seals are not allowed. So if I bought an engine from you it would need to be a 100% factory rebuild

I was considering pulling and blueprinting my engine, that's why I asked the question

Blueprinting is definitely something we can do.

Just let me know what you would like to be updated on and I'll be glad to do so. We are still selling used engines and remanufactured engines. Our exotic water pump is still probably more than a month away.

Hi, looking for a 13B for a friend...
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech-garage-22/replacement-engine-cost-109303/

He wants new in the crate (yikes!) but I think rebuilt will be fine.. since he seeks my 'expert' opinion..

Could I get an approximate price/shipping cost to Calgary, Alberta, Canada?
Thanks!

Sorry it's been more than a week to respond. I take it this car your friend is or was looking at also has no intake or exhaust, throttle body, coils, emission harness, injectors, alternator etc?

There is a tremendous range of what I can offer, including all new engine parts and mildly used accessories or a dressed used motor or a dressed reman motor. I'd say $3000 to $6000 plus shipping.

just spotted this old post and I couldn't agree with it more! Paul was grinning from ear to ear when I saw him at SevenStock.

Great news on the price drop! Hope I never need one BUT if I do, I know who to call.

I'm curious as to your meaning of "modded versions" is, for future reference.
