The ultimate capacity of the cooling system won't change too much as that is mostly dependent on the radiator and total volume. What will change is you will make better use of the system and be able to use it to capacity. Also, heat rejection is based directly on the temperature of the radiator. If the pump is able to get the hotter coolant from the engine to the radiator, the radiator temp will go up and it will reject slightly more heat. The problem now is, exaggerated a bit, at 8000-9000 full throttle, the coolant is so hot and the water pump pickup is so poorly designed that instead of pumping the coolant, it vaporizes it and feeds steam (less mass) into the engine. Thus, your engine becomes coolant starved and you get heat damage.

From what I've learned about rotaries, the only real side effects of anything is loss of compression and power. The rotor housings are not thermally balanced - they have a hot end where combustion occurs and a cool end where intake occurs. Having severe temperature differences is probably not the best for the shape of the housing.
I don't think a stock car is going to overheat just punching it getting on the highway. It'll be consistent high throttle operation where your coolant temps are probably up around 210 already.
You can't hear the cavitation and it would be tough to tell its happening.

I'm sure depending on driving conditions, you could overheat your car on heavy street use. Living in Ari-f**king-zona would be one such condition. Cavitation probably occurs in your engine on a semi-regular but not too detrimental basis - unless you then hold the car at 8k rpms.
If you put together a lot of the thoughts provided from the many sharp people in this thread you can understand what we've done and the benefits of it. Most of it is impeller design and proper clearances afforded by design and fitment. The biggest benefits will be to the racer who is running high revs on long straightaways. There are a lot of 8 owners who do track days and it doesn't hurt to avoid cavitation when doing so. The cool thing is that our pump does not need to be slowed down and is more efficient even at low revs; this benefits the typical driver during the summer months in stop and go driving as well.
The icing on the cake is the increase in usable horsepower in the upper revs especially since most designs are very parasitic there as opposed to ours.

Though that is the incidental fact of the pump we have now, a pump that is "sized correctly" will have a liner output.

I'd be lying if I said this thread didn't get me pretty excited. It's not often that you can get a mod that simply makes the car better. It's almost always a trade off. Over the fall/winter, I want to concentrate my energies on smaller mods that will simply increase the longevity and return of my current investments.
