I appreciate the enthusiasm for our product. I've been trying to keep quiet on it so as to not create un-necessary anxiety on the part of our patient customers. I'm expecting our parts for production on this coming Thursday, then it will be up to Mr Engman to set up the manufacturing jigs. As busy as he is right now, I'm not going to give exact statements for 'product to market' but rather that we are hopeful to sell by early July.

At this time I'll reveal pricing: The cost of the best water pump available for an RX8 (BAR NONE) is $230 plus S&H.

Thanks again for your patience folks. Your engines will love you for it.

Paul.

any before and after dyno's? Wouldn't that be one of the most important points for this modification? Or are there other benefits?

higher flowing pump = better cooling = longer lasting engine!!

don't think this is for power as it's possible that for more flow it would require more power from the engine unless it's a radical new design that pumps more with less power...

I want one for my FD!!!

It's funny you should mention these things. One of the good points about this design is freed up horses especially at 8 to 10k. We don't have dyno numbers to substantiate this at present but we've done similar before. It's not magic, but a way superior design.

The other thing interesting about your post is that the only other pump we will be offering very soon is for the FD. Same pricing.

For only 230?! It'd be more convenient if there was some way we could monitor/control the flow

I take it this has some sort of "blocking plate" for the OEM pump.
Is there an idler pulley?
Any idea of the actual flow numbers?

What am i missing that leads you to believe there is going to be a blocking plate and what exactly do you mean by that?

I figured that this was an external, electrical pump - not an OE replacement.

It's a direct OE replacement.

How many times do you want to convert to and from electrical energy? Its not the most efficient process.

And the pullies on accessories are generally so lightweight that there are almost no gains to be seen with a new pulley. nothing worth investing in.
