New MazdaManiac BASE Calibrations
Experienced detonation I'm pretty sure the other day. I was flooring it in first and there was weird sounds near redline, my first reaction was the rev limiter but it was obvious it wasn't. Sounded like the tincan thingy.
It was bloody hot outside, so MUCH higher intake temps than my map was logged at I'm sure, I have been looking at them other days, but not when it's been this hot, it was probably 30C outside compared to probably 10C when I logged. So I have a couple of questions.
1) Should I be worried about the engine after one of these, like could there be damage now even if I let off the gas as the sound came?
2) Should I fill 98 instead of 95 gas in summer to be safe, or go to base map?
It should be noted that I'm driving with my 4.04 map from Jeff and he didn't say finished, I didn't finish mapping because the road I usually used has been closed for roadworks and it's so risky on the highway in spring/summer. And technically my calibration time is expired, I've commited to an ignition kit and such so I can't afford to fork out the new $ to complete it now.

I must say, apart from my regular stop/start driving the mileage isn't bad after mapping. Drove on a 300km trip a few weekends ago with some other Mazda friends, had used 1/8 tank before that on regular short distance driving. Filled her up with 48 litres, and the total driven was 418km. That included spirited driving on mountain roads, and a lot of speeding, and all with windows down and open moonroof. Not too shabby
Oh that's neat. Would you say those are easier or more difficult to tune as compared to the 8?
I'm just now getting my plugs/coils taken care of, so I'll hopefully send a final log your way in a week or two.

Most of the basics are the same, but there are a whole slew of things like boost control, knock timing control and secondary fuel maps that make it a much "deeper" bit of work.
what a let down... should not tell any one maps were going out.. lol i was stoked to get home to check my emails, and received nothing.. lol
oh well back to waiting!!
Congrats to the guys who received them!

Sorry!
Its just a huge bog-down right now.
Between the million other projects, the travel and tying to keep myself afloat after having nearly all of my other businesses partially collapse under the weight of the economy, I've hardly had any time to ****, let alone build calibrations.
Thanks for the patience.

"as well as the actual calibration you downloaded and used for these logs and provide the answers to these questions:"
^Does this mean attach the base calibration we recieved by following the initial download links to identify our car?

. Car still runs smooth though.
Wow, so how many people have purchased APs through you so far?
