So I got my new tune a while ago and the throttle response is awesome, and my butt dyno noticed a significant increase in power as well. I was previously choking on too much fuel at various points and it seems leaned out nicely for the most part. I am experiencing a couple of weird things however...
One thing is, the car seems to backfire a lot more often. If I go in WOT up to 7k rpm+ and let off the throttle I get either a dull farting sound, or on a few occasions a truly terrific bang and what sounds like igniting fuel (sort of a "woosh"). I have not had any noticable problems resulting from this, but it is a bit disconcerting. This is the first car I've run a midpipe on, is this normal?
Additionally my WOT AFRs looked pretty normal for the first few days, but the other day I went through 2nd and 3rd in WOT and my AFRs were low 13s through most of the RPM range. I noticed and took my foot off the gas and when I went WOT again it was low/mid 11s like it had been for the previous few days. I haven't seen it go that lean in WOT since then. What could cause a lean spike like that?
Finally, my gas mileage sucks badly. It was never awesome, but when I first started using the AccessPORT while otherwise stock it went up a bit (18-22 mpg) and when I changed to the AEM intake with stock maps it plummetted. (9-15 mpg) I expected the mileage to go back up to what I was seeing before now that I'm on leaner maps... but I'm still getting very poor mileage. I'm nearly 30k miles so I'm thinking it might be time for me to get new plugs/coils... in which case I need to get in line for BHR ignition upgrade.

So just cus MM and I jumped off the bridge, doesn't mean you're supposed to do it as well.

"lounge" and "fine area" don't belong in the same sentence. ![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Back on Topic though...

Car seems really good on the newest tune, but not looked that much on values yet. Some ****** scratched my fender with his ugly red car in the parking lot and didn't leave a note so that ruined my day proper anyway

Someone please verify this, but I believe the car-to-car variations that cause theneed for individual tuning are all derived from differences coming from the slew of analog sensors on the car. As a digital device, one PCM running a tune should behave exactly the same as any other PCM running that same tune. (After fuel trims and things are adjusted after a few drive cycles, that is).
I'm pretty sure it would be fine/appropriate to just use the most recent map you have.

Hey Jeff the 4.01 map you sent me for the Second set of datalogs and WOT is leaning me out. @ idle I'm seeingng 17.8-19.9 AFRs and @ WOT up to 7lbs I'm still seeing 14-15 AFRs ![Eyetwitch](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/eyetwitch.gif)
Sent you my datalogs with idle and cruise @ 4200 rpm using the 4.01 map. I will be reinstalling the 1st base map you sent me as that one was giving me AFRs spot on. 14.0-15.0 @ idle and 11-10.0 @ WOT.
