No, you sent me an e-mail (arangoa79@aol.com) wanting to know who I was I baught the AP from Narrleven. I just went for a drive, AFR was at 20 at WOT I noticed that they only jumped to 20 once I let off the gas. Example- I'm cruising at 7K in 1st gear AFR is at 13-14, once I let off the gas jumps to 20. Is this normal. Other then that the car felt great Can't wait for your maps

I'll make a note of that for the next time I'm piloting my RX-8 under water. "Memo to self; brakes may not work below 2000 feet." LOL

I istalled cobb stage 1. At idle by AFR are 14.5-15.2, when I'm cruising bellow 5500 RPM AFR's are 13.9-14.7. When I floor it as I pass the 5500 RPM mark the AFR's start to drop. In 1st gear at 8K AFR was 12.5, 2nd gear 8K AFR was 12.2, 3rd gear 8K AFR was 11.2. I stayed at 8K for about 5 seconds in each gear. Don't know what those #'s mean, is it normal for AFR to drop at WOT rather then at cruise? My under 5500 RPM AFR's were high (13.8-14.9) so should uninstall the map and wait for MM's?

But my AFR's were over 14 while bellow 5500 rpm. I thought anything over 14 was bad? Or is it anything over 14K while at WOT is bad. When you guys say WOT you mean keeping it at 8K for a fw seconds then reading the # right? If it wasn't for MM and the rest of you I would probably destroy this engine

As a side note, how is it that MM can make custom tunes and the rest of us can't. Does he have special software from cobb that allows him too? Just curious, not that I would even dare try.

it's difficult to say without a datalog or a video to look at.
what your AFR should be is dependent on the load on the engine. At light throttle, you can have an AFR in the 16-17's without any problem.
While in closed loop, your car usually tries to maintain 14.7 AFR, once it goes into open loop the stock pcm setting goes pig rich.

No problem MM, I know you are a busy man and I just appreciate your hard work. I got the maps and e-mailed you back with a few questions. I will definitely be reading that thread for my own personal knowledge.
