Cobb AccessPORT Discussion
Data logging allows you to drive your car freely without having to worry about watching values or relying on someone else to get the information right. It also provides accurate data as to what your AFR readouts are within certain load ranges to ensure you get the best tune right off the bat.
Still, common sense should be used with data use. Clearly dumping tons of data onto MazdaManiac will slow down the process. There needs to be a filter.
Data logging isn't required but I've found it very helpful.
Jeff I sent you new data since I had never really sent you data and graphs. Did you recieve it and was it helpful to you?
I am still waiting on an answer about the injectors. I included that in my last e-mail.
Just in case my e-mail is darkapoc@gmail.com
Thank you!

jeff i just wanted to see if you got my email about switching ownership of AccessPort so we can get started with the tuning..ive started loging m data and preparing it for you but i know you wont look at it until its in my name! thanks
Jeff, I sent my request on Sept 4th with two followup emails with no response. I'm going from NA to a modified Greddy kit and I've been patiently/anxiously/happily waiting, but if you're down to 26 days and I'm 50 days out...can you check and pm or email me with an ETA?
My purchase email was techromancer(at)uclabruins.com
Thanks
James

Hi MM, I tried to PM you before but it said your box was full so I did an email, but maybe this is better.
Has anyone figured out if the AP can work with the Esmeril kit, or does the post-turbo MAF issue make it impossible? I heard a rumor that someone local was switching his Int-X for AP, and he has the same kit so I was just wondering. If it IS possible, I might make the switch, seems like a solid piece of gear. And it would get rid of my current emissions headaches I hear.

Yeah I know the Esmeril guys are sticking with Int-X, which definitely makes me want to stay with it via the old "if it aint broke don't fix it" rule. Would it be possible to borrow a local person's AP just to delete CEL's from the pcm but leave everything else stock? Or is that impossible due to some tricky reason I'm not seeing?
Is that a big deal, or just a matter of minutes? Also, if it is "uninstalled" from my car, wouldn't the deleted CEL's come back? I was thinking I'd have it delete the CEL's but NOT uninstall it from my car, the goal being to have a PCM with stock settings but certain CEL's deleted. Or is it that the other person would not be able to use it until it is uninstalled from mine?
I just want an emissions sticker

what's the CEL for? If it's coming on because of a mipipe or something like that then Yes, the light will just come back on.
The AP blocks those codes from triggering the light so once you uninstall it...BAM, CEL is back.
If it's a random code for say...loose gas cap, you can zap it and it won't come back until the condition presents itself again.
Your goal of having a PCM with stock settings and certain CEL's deleted can only be done with an AP.

I have 2 CEL's, first came on the first exhaust sensor because I have a turbo now, so the emissions are probably jacked up. Now I also have a straight pipe so thats a second CEL from the cat sensor. I know only the AP can accomplish this goal that I have. The question is if I used someone's AP to do this to my car, would that make the AP unusable for them until it is uninstalled from my car?
If that's the case I suppose I could just delete the codes, get the car inspected, then give the AP back and not worry about it for another year.

The AP can work on just about anything, but with one significant caveat -
The MAF tube must conform to something akin to the original design.
This means straight, 3.375 i.d. with the loop of the sensor perfectly centered, at least one screen before the MAF and, in a blow through system, on after as well.
It must also be sufficiently far enough away from the BOV as to not disturb airflow and and transitions in tube diameter must be at least 6" away from the MAF itself.

And thanks Jedi for letting me know how that stuff works, I guess my best bet would be to borrow one when someone's got free time for a couple hours.
Another question, if I were to go ahead and try to do that, when installing the AP into my car to delete the codes, I assume it would be prudent to dissengage the Int-X before flashing, or is it known that there's no conflict? I just assume it would be a conflict.
Question: If i change my altitude by 6000 feet above sea level, do i need different maps? cause ever since i got to colorado my AFR's are richer at normal RPM's and when they were normally from 14.5 to 15.3 at home at cruising, now they are at 13.4 to 14.1.
so do i need new maps from MM?
