Cobb AccessPORT Discussion
Don't mind my rambling.
I think you can go way high during cruise if you have no cat. My car was running fine around 16-17 in cruise before i messed with some settings. I heard what will happen is if you go too lean in cruise youll reach a point where itll bog down and not make power.
yea i had that happen
I have a concern. Seeing that I might not ever get a response back from MM...is the current map I'm using going to harm my engine? I get 11.1 @ WOT and 13.5-14.7 everywhere else. Am I better off just going back to stock and using the AP for a damn paperweight?
I just want to get this thing over with now. I'm past 70 days and if I get past 80 I think I'm going to completely loose it. I didn't get this thing for this type of customer service. I know COBB sells it with it's maps but the sole reason I even bought the damn thing was because MM is backing the product with his custom tunes (ACCORDING TO HIS WEBSITE). If he's not going to do what his website has posted then technically that is misleading the customer. People are buying the AP thinking that this is the service he will provide if they purchase it from him. This is his business and he's not providing good customer service. Am I being unreasonable in asking for my first custom tune seeing that I'm over 70 days? Or should I sit down, shut up and wait like a good customer for eternity until he feels like sending it to me?
*to re-cap for those who don't know what's going on: I sent him my data twice now. He replied to my email the first time I sent it saying that he got my info then a few weeks ago he said he didn't have it so I resent it....

11.1 WOT with what? Are you running forced induction yet? If not you should be fine. Even 12.0 is ok under 9-10 psi. So if you aren't even boosting, I can't imagine you are going to break something. Cruising I think you can go around 15 without worrying about killing your cat. If you deleted the cat, you can cruise at like 17-18 if that still makes power for you. But keep in mind if you are running boost, I can only speak for my kit, different turbos will probably vary.

At least you got an email from him. I'm 62 days with NO response at all. Just to know he got the data would be....courteous.
I can't help but think that the solution to the problems here would be resolved with a simple ticketing system. As long as you get a ticket number, know your place in line, and know how long to expect before your served, you might be less antsy. Right now there is no feedback and no idea when you'll get your maps. This leaves people feeling like they aren't important or they aren't going to get their maps - even if this isn't the case.
I'm writing on a 32" LCD, but I don't have my web browser at full width of the display.
That last email was a couple of weeks ago, and although I responded the same day with every piece of information I could possibly think of to get the BASE FI maps... I haven't heard back from him to even assure me he got the request queued up. I think a ticketing system like MySql is talking about would help, but I think the problem is honestly bigger than that. Even when I've actually communicated with the man in email I don't feel like he gives a rats *** about me or my setup. I'm not even asking for a custom tune at this point, I just want the goddamn base tune for my car so I can put my turbo kit in without exploding. My "6 months of 5 custom tunes" that I got for ordering the AccessPORT through Jeff seems hilarious at this point because I will honestly be surprised if I get the base FI maps let alone a custom modification to them.

I need the base map as well. Then I can get back line for adjustments

Seriously, the issue isn't the time it takes to get a map (or not get a map), but the lack of communication. I hate being ignored most of all.
It would be nice if COBB or someone else could shoulder some or all of the load and begin making custom AP maps.

And as for the recent people complaining, didn't someone say something about him being out of town this week or something? Not trying to defend him, just wondering if he's even in a position to read these complaints or do any work this week.
huge +1
