There's new firmware available for the AP (version 1.2.6.11-5999) on the Cobb website. No details have been posted, though

Hey Jeff, have you had a chance to check out my email I sent on Thursday and before that last Friday. The car is not running well on the 1c maps at all. Let me know what you think Thanks! - Michael

Hey Jeff, I e-mailed you at jeff@mazdamaniac for info on getting myself on the mailing list and such, as since I bought the AP from Hank I don't have instructions to follow.

I think I posted earlier I got around 20.5 to 23 mpg on 150 mile orad trip after the AP.

Well below what I expected but then....................... I dropped down to a 35 size tire from a stock 45 and then a 40 size height.

I have some stock 45 heights. I need to put them on and test the MPG.

But who cares. I know its better and I know its a sports car.

It actually beats my G8 GT around town for MPG.

what are your afrs?

when not in boost, your car is the same as any other NA rx-8. You shouldn't have any issues.

i understand that. the afr jumps around at times when i'm only around 4k, easy on the gas. not in boost the afr is around 13.5. it's just very erratic. used to be very very stable with the greddy maf/airfilter.

afr should jump around in closed loop. try going back to the greddy maf housing and see what happens.

The Screen does make a fairly significant difference when placed in front of the MAF. It smoothes out the air flow, and will affect the MAF reading. The screen is normally used to help smooth out the reading and make it less erratic.

Hey.....I'm *this* close to clicking the "buy" button and ordering this thing, but am curious if there are any more reports of controlled before-and-after dyno runs. I know Jeff was working with the AP on a few cars in Chicago over the weekend...so....any new numbers from that event with the AP?

I think most of us are still recovering our sleep from yesterday and last night. Most of us will be posting pics and scans of our dyno sheets shortly. I am setting up a photobucket account and will be passing around the info for all of us to post to it. Info to follow shortly.

[edit] http://photobucket.com/mazdarenesis I have it setup so you can post pics to it and I will approve them to be added. Otherwise PM me and I will provide the user/pass for the account [/edit]

Something I noticed after the dyno day is that the AP flashed red when at WOT and AFR is around 12.5. Is this part of the recent upgrades?

I downloaded the firmware, not sure if it took though. When I looked at the AP via AP manager, right click, properties; it showed the old firmware.
