Race Roots coming clean....
#202
As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I spoke with Brice shortly after Mazsport closed (log attached below). I asked him about all the mazsport products he was selling.
The conclusion I draw from this:
PS: I thought it was funny that Brice said the Syncro Savers had been tested for something like a year when his company wasn't even around for month.
- It is common knowledge that Mazsport took money from many customers and then closed shop without delivering products or refunds.
- Brice knows this (as confirmed by multiple other chat logs)
- Brice was a regular customer of Mazsport at the time. He was not running a store. His screen name was BluMonsterRX8 at the time.
- Brice confirms that he purchased the mazsport items BEFORE they closed shop. For personal use (rofl!). As we all know, Scott makes items to order. He never has a ton of excess inventory on the shelves (I've been to the shop a half dozen times in 3 different shop locations [he relocated frequently for some odd reason]).
The conclusion I draw from this:
- Scott sold off his inventory made for other customers, to Brice.
- Brice knew Scott was closing Mazsport, otherwise it makes no sense that he would have bought dozens of clutch brackets, exhausts, etc from Scott.
- Brice opened up his store to allow Scott to continue selling products.

I strike my previous conclusion. I don't think Scott sold his excess inventory to Brice. I think he just sold the parts he had on hand through Brice. Then made more as he went, continuing that arrangement.
Brice then just made up the statement that he bought inventory from Scott in order to make it look like he wasn't actively working with Scott.

Ray has posted some on the most insightful opinions i have ever seen on the forum.
If we truthfully are a family--how do we treat another family member that has royally screwed up? Sure, anger/disappointment/disbelief all have to be vented, its healthy to do that. But, do we not give Brice a second chance? The moderators have--and i think that speaks a lot for their maturity.
I am willing to bet that there is no one that has posting here that hasnt lied or stolen. Thats right. Stolen. When you walk out of the office with that pen/envelopes/whatever that belongs to the business you work for --thats stealing. When someone gives you too much change after a purchase and you know it but keep it anyway--thats stealing. So forth and so on.
Its like asking a lady that is pregnant , "How pregnant are you?" Thats a yes/no ?. lol
No one can say Brice stole with facts to back it up, thats facts --not opinions?
So what is he guilty off? He has not stolen. Is he guilty of stealing just by association?
I hope judgments ares not being done based on that. If so--God help us all.
He has admitted to lying and misrepresentation. Thats bad--real bad for a business.
He has "manned up" and admitted to it--no matter what the motivator for that confession was. Has all of us always told the truth? Hell no. Have we all admitted to lying--Hell no.
What --you have never called into work sick when you werent? Lol
Point is---take this for what it is--that all.
As a mature family/forum lets give everyone a second chance---as long as they stay honest.
So--what kind of family member are you going to be?
Nothing wrong with tough love---but constant grilling over details etc is not warranted?

Lying and stealing...yes two different things, both are shitty. Stealing is clearly illegal, lying in this case probably isn't.
What he DID do however, is money/property laundering, essentially, which is very clearly illegal. Those parts were not squeaky clean as brice would like to think, just because he didn't physically steal them from former mazsport customers. Mysql101 and lots of other people should get their stolen good/money back, and both scott and brice are legally responsible for that.
The lawyers and judges will make that clear, I don't think we need to spend too much time explaining theft and laundering here...I'm just blown away by how clueless some people are about it.

I think we honestly need to have this closed. No matter what he did, no reason for us to continue to sit here a bitch about it. Whats done is done. He has some stuff to live with now, he knows how most of you feel and he knows he lost the trust of the site.
No matter what happens at this point, I don't think there is anymore to said by either side. Lets move on and let those involved live with what ever consequences they get by the powers that be.

Given that we've had this very topic discussed over a year ago and people seem completely unaware of the background and history a year later... I'm not so sure I agree with you.

After reading all 10 pages of this, I feel I need to add a bit:
Brice being a liar: Not really news, he chose to repeatedly slander other vendors, and forum members under his Fluid Motorsports name, then toned it down when he became Race Roots and focused on defaming BHR and select few others. This was the first thing I noticed about him, and was a complete turn off for me.
Brice working with Scott: Also not news, I'm pretty sure there were quite a few of us who alluded to this fact many times within the past year, only to be ignored, and alas. It's true. Those of you who are acting so surprised need to just stop, we all knew, most just chose not to admit it, or care.
Brice on Business: He did what he felt was necessary to keep his business alive, something that people do on a daily basis. Was what he did so wrong? Not particularly. He worked closely (for what is beginning to look like years) with someone who scammed our community, but who legally owes us nothing (Bankruptcy FTW). Does Scott deserve a swift kick in the nuts, HELL YEAH, maybe even some mumba bumba, but in the long run, he filed bankruptcy in order to get away with peoples money, and for that, he can't show his face anywhere near us again, which is why he needs a Middle Man.
Brice on being the Middleman: Was Brice really the middleman? More like a puppet. We all know Scott is a master at convincing people of his B.S. Plain and simple, Brice fell for it, found a great way to make money, thought it would last forever, his Puppet master cut the strings, and he fell flat on his face.
Should we forgive Brice? He's a kid, he made mistakes, I can't rule whether he should be forgiven or not, that is for us as individuals, and as a whole to decide. At the end of the day, we shouldn't force him to pay for what someone else has done. No matter the depth of his involvement.
He has some character flaws, as do we all, he has made some mistakes, as have we all, and he has lied, just like us. We shouldn't crucify him, for he has already hung himself. Enough is enough. We should just sit back, and see if he has truly learned anything from this ordeal, or if he is just being Brice.
