Its a Cosmo 13B RE........ Even Lennon knows that if u want serious Horse Power, ud need to at the very least transplant the 13BT engine from the Rx7 FD...... Trouble is, by doing that..... ud end up getting a car like this dude....All stripped out..... Even the stock Rx8 meter cluster will be rendered useless..... A lot of rewiring will need to be done....... B'coz of the Renesis side ports, not much can be done in terms of improving horse power figures..... Mainly coz, they've pretty much max'd it out edi via this side exhaust port setup...... Why do u think the Renesis develops 250ps in NA form where-as the last NA RE engine from the FC3S 1988 model developed only 160ps...... That's a 90ps jump without increasing capacity........

CSL, you oso hook into TREC??? I only know William from Trial Malaysia sell this.... I tried b4, it just allow your throttle to open faster, but it doesn't add HP.......

Nzway just wanted to share with u guys my latest addition to my ride... Autofoam.
The 8 is a really sweet ride but noisy as hell. Was beginning to get really annoyed with all the rattle from the door and road noise permeating through the heatsink. Came across a review on this product on Hypertune so thought I'd give it a try....
Left the car at KL Auto for half a day. Did the premium package with sum noise insulation.
All i can say is... wah lau! not bad wei.... obviously it didnt convert my ride into a total noiseproof music studio, but d reduction was SIGNIFICANT! oh, n all those road irregularities were reduced.

Next on my list.... my ride is bumpy. suspension and absorbers r OEM. Any suggestions? Was thinking of tien or aragostas but those according to sum reviews r worse than OEMs. I just need comfort la... Too much stress on my *** liao

sivanes81, if u change to normal suspension from type s suspension the comfort level will be greatly increase. noisy car must be due to engine oil grade.

 

how 2 get the type s suspension?
Mine in a 6MT... comes with type E suspension izzit?
How bout aftermarket alternatives?
I'm using Trust Rotary oil.... cant think of any better grade than that la

 

All sports oriented car have a somewhat bumpy/ firm ride..... U can't have the best both worlds, its a compromise....... soft Comfortable Cushy Suspension equals a shitty handling car (read most American made cars)........ If its handling ur after, u bought the right car....... if its comfort ur after....... Hahahaha (u get the picture)...... changing to aftermarket suspension kits will only improve handling (hence the "Upgrade" term..... which means more often than not, a firm'er ride)...... If the comfort levels increace, then i'd term it a "downgrade"....... Aragosta, Cusco, TEIN, HKS Hipermax etc etc are all stiffer than stock.... They're also noisy'er over pot hole riddled roads......


I think u'd come to terms with the firm ride of ur Rx8 soon enuff..... Nice review on the Autofoam...... Maybe i'll also give it a try.... But, my 8 doesn't have any rattles from the doors....or even any annoying ones...... do u park ur 8 in the sun often...? That may explain those rattles n creaks.......

 

Neeway...... Type E suspension shud be more comfortable than Type S..... Ur 8 is a 6MT which means that ur 8 is a Type S (with Type S susp also of course).......

Try Tein Super Street..... Comfy type...... Aragosta is RM10k, for track use.... If you think, Mazdaspeed is bumpy, only OEM shock is suitable for you......

 

It was there since I bought the car. So just wanna learn how to play around with it.

 

haha bro u miss understand, i mean change to normal suspension in the part book. not the type s one. from type s downgrade to normal one.
Rotary oil is great, it protect the engine well. i don't know why it is noisy on my car too. try 5w30 mineral oil. then you know what i mean. but it couldn't protect your engine like rotary oil. don't press it too hard.

Effie u are right, i changed my spring to MS one, and hell its bumpy. but it corner really great. u can't have both. heheh
Type E suspension could be normal one or Type S one. its optional.
