With all due respect Zoom, but the only rerason this thread has taken a curve ball is because of a certain someone spreading outright lies /misstruths and personal attacks , which OZ forum members have seen straight through .
If these comments were deleated ( as asked in my PM to you 2 days ago) then this fiasco would never have happened
I am about telling people about this experience / journey ,and showing only facts
The knowledge I have learned about this car can be of benifit to ALL the forum.

Thanx again all who support my endeavours and have been following this exciting journey to date

not that I have been following this argument but this statment just stood out as crap. I don't know about you but I didn't see a speedo anywhere? I didn't see what throttle openings were used on each car. a video isn't proof, it was cool! but not proof.

Ciao's turbo kit is as good as any other turbo kit and good on him for doing it in such a short time. well done ciao!

With all due resdpect Dave his comments of two days ago were only questioning your claims. they were a little harsh yes but did not deserve deleting only to make you comfortable.I gave the warning they deserved. Second the last time a moderator not from Australia deleted posts in this section the lot of you bit his head off for doing so. So as to avoid that scenario again i thought i would give everyone one more chance to change their ways before i do start deleting posts. This "fiasco" is not off my doing but of those who cannot politely discuss their oppossing opinions.

I think EZZY took the footage and mentioned they were going 80km's (correct me if im wrong ezzy).

Anywayz you can have a rough idea on how fast they were going and with the pull away power it had that impressed me enough.

But the test drive will only justify it

I'm only going by what I've been reading that Ciao said.
don't shoot the messenger
what's he really got to gain by making up the speed?
you saw how fast the car accelarated away!
Just let it happen, I'm sure Ciao knows what he's doing for the better of RX8 KIND,
I'm might have to change my plans for Christmas holliday & treat the family to movie world while I treat myself to RX8 Turbo World if ciao's so incline to let us
drive the car to expierance the G forces for ourselves.
it will be a great opp

can't wait

Of course you can Carl . My car awaits .

Someone is commomg up from Newcastle in a couple of weeks to take my car for a spin

As for the speed ,I was going 80km/ph , for safety I was not gonna drive and hold a vid camera in the other hand ,while changing gears etc LOL!!

Il set a camera up for the next time .

As for the throttle position ,Rotarenvy, my right Hush Puppy was mashed to the firewall,I think you know what throttle position that was LOL!!

Luv ' Yall

Dave

I am very very very sorry to do that

It is not only

But a

It may well be Oct 21... but it is a Oct 21 2004. Nothing happened for a year Very sad

You better test Rotor Master's one... it is still very far off from a track car but it is the closest I can get to a FI...

Comeon Ciao and Hymee

(hehe) Where is the promise from Mazdasports of entering Tassie Targa... I forgot to ask that question

Holy crap

Wow, I'm glad I tried to hose it all down a day or so. It really worked didn't it??

Let's hope we can all get along from now on. We might even learn something instead of how best to win friends and influence people.

And Taka - I was just taking the ****. If you bait me, I will bite.

BTW May I ask Ciao are you project for the turbo to go over 6000rpm? Since your dyno chart did not suggest otherwise and I am just curious .

Cheers

Sure buddy , It was the first pull , when we came to the realisation the wastegate was fully open.and needed adjustment to the actuator rod

190 RWKW at 6000Rpm ...Imagine with 3 grand more RPM to go !!!

It still kept boosting , so with all that ,and the two leaks we stopped the test

This baby will scream all the way to the redline Safely I might add with all AFR's etc . in check

Ciao

Dave

It is exactly Mazda North America's Official Position on the Supercharged RX-8 that was seen testing in California and Reported about by Sam Mitani. The folks who report the news on Rotarynews.com do not make up headlines like "Mazda's official stance" without getting it direct from MNAO headquarters in California or from Mazda Japan. Please do not denigrate the work they do because Maxx posted a link to it that had nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Taka much has been done with that car and another blue one in the intervening year as we heard about at 7stock. The blue one has done time as both SC and TC. The white one was only SC. The tuning was done by retunning the stock pcm with custom maps by Racing Beat. I even got to talk to the man who wrote the map. It was rumoured also that the white one had been destryed after its test period was over but it was seen by some folks who attended 7stock. The front end of the white one btw was designed byt eh same person who did the design of RB's new type 2 front.

Yes the U.S position , Not Australias, that was my point .Sorry I did'nt make that clear
Mazda Australia has destroyed also many test cars they have used in their Turbo concept .All of which were destroyed with senior officials in Japan having to be present at the crash test
The team working on my management were the ones working on theirs ,and had a lot of inside information regarding this .
The turbo in their opinion is the way to go , it gives you an abundance of torque down low ,and makes increasing power to the redline , unlike the power curve of a centrifugal which builds with revs. It was for this reason I entertained the turbo over S/C option ." if Mazdas doin it ,there must be good reason " that was my analogy . And the car IS great ,we dial the amount of boost at what revs we want and .....Zooooom the car just takes off

That article was written some time ago ,with not much happening since ,The OZ Mazda one works , and it works really well.Ive seen the stats and spoken to the test drivers .
Maybe its a thing with Supercharging that it always seems to take forever to get off the ground properly . Mazda had no issues with their T/C and had it up in a much shorter time
Mine took under a month ( including Manifacturing )and it Flies !!!

Ciao

Dave

Alan Horsely's TC was an exact replica of the Rotormaster which is why it got "up and running"( it never drove anywhere on record that i have seen) so quickly. Makes you wonder why they needed after market tuning solution instead of just remapping the PCM.

Just got off the phone with the ECU guy.who tells me the Maz Aust. concept was done from the ground up .They had many prototypes with manifs and turbos ,as seen personally by him . I guess you can say Its a Greddy copy too as they all have similar design . Thing is there's not much room or options in the engine bay .There are only a few holes to route piping through, hence making all kits similar somewhat
In terms of the PCM remap ,the software was no fasciltated through Maz japan for the concept. It was a logistics issue i believe

my mistake i did read the wheels article.

Your ecu person may have seen multiple manifolds etc but it is very well known and reported here previously that Horsley's team had access to the Rotormaster car for a day and then copied their kit exactly.

but we are getting off track again. sorry didnt mean to drag the thread around.

I've drooled over the Wheels article several times (and I'm sure I'm not the only one). Personally, once you get past the wow factor, I found it disappointing that the team responsible for the car refused to confirm power numbers and other pertinent information (I simply don't believe it has never been dynoed - I mean come on, as if they didn't).

I was also disappointed that the MA car didn't get on the track at the Nats like the Hymee and RM cars did. Walking the walk will always beat a shiny car with a pretty girl standing next to it.

Really, the MA car just boils down to a PR machine. It is apparent to me that if they got the kind of performance and reliability they were after, this car would have been developed for sale, just like the previous MX5 turbo car. Why else spend a lot of money and time doing it? Again, I just don't buy the party line that Allan Horsley was feeding Wheels.

So far so good for you Dave. I hope it is a successful mod for you long term and you get what you want out of it. However, I think it is still too early to call which route will prove to be the better FI option.

.
As I been involved with the same team , I know the power figures and they are more than impressive , I have been sworn not to tell the public ( but Im sure if you PM me I might be able to give you an idea )
I dont know why MA does this ,if it were me I would tell the world. I have seen the Dyno sheets .They're Awesome !!And seen the car getting thrashed around the Gold Coast .
I have spoken to all guys who have driven it .and when you ask then , a dumb smile appears on their face as they say "it was Amazingly quick "
Mazda does silly things like this to keep info getting put in the public ....Dunno why .Their kit kicks *** ... All loved it at "wheels "too

What was Mazda's reason ..That is so odd and typical of Mazda .Why did'nt they go on the track?Did any of you ask them?
