Like 05rex8 has mentioned... Jeff isn't the only one who should be "allowed" to tune with the AP.
We just know Jeff more, so that's why we trusted him before anyone else.
I see no reason why Fluid can't start this too... its nice to have competition (as a buyer).

Hell.. what if Home Depot was the only store you could purchase hardware from?
They could jack the prices more and more knowing you can't go anywhere else (not saying Jeff would do that).

Fluid knows what its like to be on the "hating" side of this forum.
I'm sure he'll do his best to not disappoint.
Lets give the man chance.

I was looking for a CEL to come on for the midpipe or the fact I am completely missing my rear 02 sensor... but none.

Any ideas?
I'm still awaiting on mine to be returned from service. Now that is one thing I didn't do all the times I received it back, was uninstall & reinstall. So that may have been my problem right there.

Yes, MazdaManaic is a forum vendor otherwise he wouldn't be able to market his turbo kit or Accessport here on RX8club.com

Yes, any posts from vendors that are not authorized to post in a thread will be removed.

Jeff > "He who must not be named" in the tuning world his map is well worth the wait because the extent he has gone to be cobbs "go to guy" for the rx8, 3 cobb dealers in the Bay area said they call some dude on rx8.com so if every one is calling Jeff i'm sure there is some reason

I'm kind of curious how many people would be interested in a $295 48 to 72 hour turn around program if MazdaManiac was to offer it.

yeah even if he did offer it, I don't have faith that he would follow thru, unfortunately due to his track record. I have nothing against him fwiw, and I appreciate what he has done and is doing. I even offered to pay extra to get my tune complete by april, but no response. I don't know what else to do here...I absolutely need this done by then. I haven't ever been tuned yet since I installed the turbo kit. Just running on base maps and staying out of boost. Screw that.

Once my new turbo is installed this weekend, I will continue to send the logs, but if I can't get it done when I need it, I have NO choice but to look elsewhere. Which I am most certain is the case.

I can understand you have a need and you're willing to look elsewhere to make it happen. I've got no argument there. If anything, it might help the situation if there's some competition as that always tends to force companies to increase quality and or decrease price.

Still, if you're in the position where you have a choice in the matter then it's important to make sure that you make a well informed decision which direction you want to go. Clearly, the alternative is an unknown factor. It's a TRUST factor.

This has been discussed in other threads but the gist is at some basic point it comes down to whether or not you trust the vendor/manufacturer to do what they say they will do or if their claims are truthful.

This is why we have name brand merchandise!

Wow. Well if you want proof from results I guess there's nothing else to be said.

I am glad that Fluid offered this service!

Hopefully more people go to him, so that I can get my tunes from Jeff sooner.

On a more serious note, I bought my AP from Jeff initially and he has always answered my (stupid questions) and taken care of me. As long as you follow Jeff's calibration service thread step by step, you cannot go wrong. I have never waited longer than 3 weeks to get a new calibration and with how ever many hundreds of people that he services, that doesn't seem too bad to me.

Just like flashwing said it all comes down to trust. I would rather wait a couple of weeks than pay another 300 bucks to someone else, who may or mat not be as knowledgable and patient as Jeff.

Just my .02....

I didn't say Fluid's not "allowed" to do this. I should say that he seems to have extremely good customer service *up front* and when there are no issues. For the reasons discussed above, though, I thought:
(1) he is being highly opportunistic to swoop in and offer this service right now, after over a year of MM working the kinks out of a system that enables direct AB-based datalogging and standardized remote tuning. Sure, he's free to do that, but I'd still be a bit ticked off if I were MM, the logging stuff was only worked out a few weeks ago, and MM has become far timelier since then.
(2) the somewhat secretive and dismissive way fluid handles problems on this forum is questionable. The thread about the Mazsport connection was deleted, though I think it speaks volumes about fluid's business and interpersonal mindset
(3) the mystery surrounding fluid's AP tuner is worrisome. It's all well and fine until an engine blows and people start demanding to know who he is. (I'm NOT suggesting that blowing an engine is more likely with the mystery tuner, but we all know it's a possibility with altered engine management parameters, no matter what tuning god does it) This is the same problem as many others.....why so much secrecy and thread deletion? People don't seem to understand the internet: EVERYTHING you've ever done/written is on record, and a history of deleting threads successive bouts of hushing things up is going to raise eyebrows.

I hope the end result is whatever serves the rx8 community best....

we should all(including me) quit junking up the rest of the forum with Fluid AP stuff, so here is a new thread for Fluid AP Tuning Discussion https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...00#post2897800

The MM AP ruined my life! Now all I do is spend countless hours with my car driving around enjoying the power it produces and the awesomeness it creates.

Had I not found the MM AP I'd be living my life in boredom. I'd be sitting around eathing TV dinners by myself wishing I had something more exciting in my life. I'd be living like a normal person.

I can only imagine the things I wouldn't be able to accomplish had I not bought the MM AP. I wish someone would have warned me.

Yes there is...it costs $295 but I can't tell you who does it or where you can get it. You'll just have to trust my results.
