I'm waiting for COBB to fix a CEL code (U0100) that my AP keeps setting everytime I flash a new map. My AP is also unable to read the code and/or clear it.

i dont know that i'd want that code to be masked... IIRC, U0100 is a PCM communication loss error.... i wouldnt want to ignore that like we ignore the cat converter CELs....

Sir Maniac,

I emailed you some graphs from my EFIdude logging. Please take a look and tell me what you think. Thank you.

BTW: EFIdude now supports .csv export of data so you can easily share it with everybody.

I'm with ya to an extent on that. I'm going to surmise that it's happening when the AP does the hard ECU reset after the reflash operation. Hopefully just an issue with the way my ECU is interpreting the reset.

I've spent a little bit of time on this with Dan@COBB so progress is being made.

I pull my battery cables, do a full system reset basically, power everything back up and the CEL is gone and all is well. I've gotten some very significant improvements uses Jeff's maps. I'm still stage 1 and don't know enough about the mysticism of this type of tuning to guage if Jeff will even take me to a next stage.

I'm seeing mpg improvements, smoother AT shifting, smoother idle, hell, just about smoother everything.

My only complaint is the stupid CEL. Beyond that, the product is working as described and everyone involved from a support perspective (Jeff @ MM to the folks at COBB) have been very helpful.

At the very least, I would like to be able to read the U0100 and have the ability to reset it using my AP. That would be far better than having to go through the hard reset with the battery pull.

The U0100 is a glitch.
You don't actually have the failure, but certain MAF calibrations in my library seem to set it.
When I first started tuning the A/Ts, I would get a P0335 for no reason.
Cobb did a tweak to the firmware to get around that one, but I've seen the U0100 for no reason before.

I ordered mine from MM and put it in. Now I have no clue what MM map to use? The one MM map I did try, had huge hesitation problems. So I set it back to stock. MM what map do I need to use?

I have:
MS ignition solution
RB cat back and cat-less mid-pipe
AEM CAI

my only problem has cropped up again.... after reflashing a map my car becomes completely undriveable for a few drive cycles. It stalled about a dozen times at traffic lights this morning... and that was me doing my best to prevent it by braking with the gas pushed down a bit to prvent it from stalling.

I was watching the afr. When I put the clutch in, the rpms start to drop. As the rpms start to drop, the AFR goes to 20 (which i believe is the fuel cut under decel). It then overshoots the idle, gets stuck at a low rpm with an afr of 15.5+ and dies. Start it back up, it will idle fine with an afr of 14.7-14.9 with little to no LTFT or STFT. Rev it up a bit and let off the gas, the afr goes to 20 again, overshoots the idle rpms, STFT goes to 10-15, afr of 15.5+ and it dies...

if history tells me anything, the next drive cycle (the third) it should actually work again... i can't wait

Try giving it a bunch of timing just under idle to help spring it back to life.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Did you follow the instructions in the e-mail?

1) How do you expect him to do that? Twist the distributor?
2) The OE calibration already has a "pad" at under-idle.

That is disturbing. It doesn't show up as STFT before it starts to bog?
Which intake do you have?

Can the Cobb be sold to someone else and used on their vehicle or is it locked to the first vehicle it sync's up to?

If you uninstall it, you can pass it on to someone else.

stock intake, rpm high flow cat, RB exhaust

... i believe last time I said something a few people chimed in they have similar problems.... RAzz and Ray at least if i recall

On cold idle the STFT and LTFT are perfect. It does not stumble at all. On hot idle, the STFT and LTFT are also pretty near perfect. Its only when the car is hot and the engine coast down to idle that the problem appears (ie large STFT, high ARF, car stalling). If its still acting up when I get home I can grab some data of the phenomena.

(I am using the 1b_3A map... but the stock map is just as much as a bastard to my car)

Perhaps the fuel map at idle or below idle at a slightly higher load then idle needs a boost? -shrug-

The PCM has an overriding closed-loop map that takes over when the fuel cut is switched off. The target is stoich no matter what the fuel map says.
That map can be tweaked to be whatever, but it will be that tweaked value regardless of load/RPM (to some extent).
I'll try bumping it a touch and send you a correction.

What are your compression/vacuum numbers like?

Jeff: I JUST purchased it from your website, and also emailed you. :-)

Oh, and I'm setting up a local dyno session with 4 or so guys in NY. I will try to do a definitive before and after test with the AP, on my relatively stock N/A car.

haven't checked the compression, last vacuum was 17 in... once the fuel trims settle, it always works perfectly again - its until then that the idle problem creeps up
