got board, did some math.

Tires $240x4 + shipping = $1,000 (245/35/18)

$1,000 Tires / 80 runs = $12.50 per lap (add $1.25 for 285's)
$25 entry fee / 3 runs = $8.33 per lap
$3.50 gallon / 4 runs? = $.85 per lap + idle and pit driving, round up to $1.00 per lap

$12.50 + $8.33 + $.85 = $21.83 PER LAP if all of the above it correct. (add $1.25 for 285's)

$21.83 * 3 = $65.49 per driver for a 3 run championship day. (add $3.75 for 285's)

Now, what was the point of doing this...? To get more people interested, or disinterested in coming out....?

I know when I explained to Cesar about a practice day eating up about 250 bucks in tire life, he became quickly disinterested....

well, on another note..if bad things happen in threes, I have only one more to go. Got rear ended today on the freeway...at least the guy had insurance this time. One more fender bender to go....

Now i just have to figure out if I want to go back to the stock bumper, or try my luck with another VIS replica bumper.

.......... you have got the worst luck when it comes to getting rear ended. at least you are not doing all the rear ending. that would REALLY suck!

are you going through insurance on this one?

damn keith, you gotta stop slamming on the brakes so much... bummer about your car getting hit again. I'd go back to stock bumper if you can. That replica really didn't come out very well. (unfortunately)

OH, and what the hell is the point of this thread again? How is this different from the last Auto Cross thread? Couldn't the other one just have it's title changed....

You forgot the part where you say: "The feeling you get after driving the perfect run, and still getting 2nd... priceless".

Nothing different in this thread...just trying to bring some new blood to the thread by labeling it "So Cal" instead of San Bernadino....kinda like when KCOP changed their name to the WB...same ol crappy shows....

That good news is that is just the Natls in KS... The Natl tour and Prosolo events dont cost that much.

Also win natls and you get $1600 back.

I can imagine that I would do pretty bad in SM at this point. I know I wouldn't want to compete in STU nationally, and I doubt they will be so willing to let me run in BSP as I can get away with at the local events....Maybe when we get our new rims and tires, and get some practice on them...or maybe when I start putting down times within a second of yours, I may be convinced to test my luck.

Jennifer wouldn't be running SM now, would she

Just an fyi.... There are rules for numbers and class letters at SCCA events. Someday you will run into a tech person that knows the rules and you wont get by.

3.7 VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION
A. All vehicles must display numbers and class letters on both
sides, which must be readable by Timing & Scoring, Course, and
Grid workers at all times.
B. Only one set of numbers and class letters may be visible while
the vehicle is running.
C. Class shall be represented by the upper-case abbreviated form
rather than be spelled out. Ladies’ classes shall be indicated by
the letter “L” following the class letters. (Example: “BSPL” instead
of “B Street Prepared Ladies”).
D. Numbers and class letters should be positioned next to each
other. All letters and numbers must be on body panels, not onwindows. All numbers and class letters must use the same
typeface and the same color, and this color must provide adequate
contrast to the background color (see Appendix F for
examples).
E. Numbers must be a minimum of 8" high with a 1.25" stroke.
Class letters must be a minimum of 4" high with a 0.75" stroke.
In all cases, the height of the class letters must be between 25%
and 75% of the height of the numbers. Stroke width must be at
least 10% of the height. (See Appendix F.)
F. The “1” on two-driver cars and the “L” on Ladies class cars are
subject to all of the above requirements with regard to placement,
color, size, and stroke.

no just getting a head start, I dont anticipate selling them quickly. not a big big deal if no one buys them. if not, I will just finish the year on them.

BSP and the Numbers must be in the same color. On mine.....the BSP is red and the numbers are black for me, and white for erica.

so the only thing I am doing wrong is not putting BSP next to the numbers, I am putting it on top of the numbers. not a big deal.

yours need some work...... do you know how old number plates are getting. peeling off old, cleaning the glue, and re doing them is getting old. I think you said you wanted them all in white? I think you said the red was to hard to read form a distance???

I was just messing around with the whole redoing magnets thing. I agree that it is getting old. They work fine for local events. I'm sure we are making names for ourselves....I thought it was funny that everytime you came up to the line, they announced , "and here comes Casey Brier in his blazing yellow RX8".

They are going to have to be creative when it comes to mine....at this point, I only earn a "Keith Wescott in his black RX8".....eventually, they'll just refer to me as "2nd place in his black RX8"...

Anyone going to try the July 9th double? I think both events can be done in one day.
