Besides, there are 2 things that can ruin an iPhone.
1) XBOX 360 in the same house
2) Apple and their updates.
Also, he's probably looking at the PS3 for the Blu-Ray player.

yeah, the PS3 isn't exactly 'cheap' but you get quite a bit for that price. Upgradable blue Ray, built in up converter, wireless internet, HUGE hard drive, wireless controllers, etc etc.
The blu ray for me was the major reason to buy.
Besides, games like TFU wouldn't be nearly as fun on PS2. you're going to sacrifice TONS of graphics.

it also runs well as a media center, not like xboxesmedia center extender, but i have the linksys dma 2100 for that. its still a good media upconverter for networked movies. let me get that bluray ripping down to a science and i will have the drives filled up in no time

Ya, the PS3 has awesome features.
Awesome features :
1) Blu-ray player that's upgradeable
2) Swapping to a larger hard drive
Not so awesome features :
1) Waiting for games to come out 1 month after another system. (i.e. Rock Band 2)
2) Online community sucks

Playing games online is terrible compared to XBOX Live.
I'm not just talking trash, I've actually played COD4 on PS3.
It was a joke compared to XBOX.
For the XBOX gamers;
Picture all the little kids that frustrate you online.
Whether they play stupid or just a bunch of kids screwing around.
That's 90% of everyone on PS3.
When you have a free online community, 10-12 year olds that can't pay
for service play on it, because it's free.
Although, in PS3's defense, PS2 online community is actually a lot worse, if that's possible.
I had a PS2 forever. The only time I could play a real game online was with a friend.
We played SOCOM all the time, but it gets old when it's just 2 people on a map.
And I know, some people will say. "I don't really play online so it doesn't bother me."
That's similar to people on dial-up saying "Ya my internet is slow, but I don't really
download stuff or do any media streaming so I don't mind."
If your forced to live w/ it, or you never see a better option, it becomes acceptable.
Like all of us are happy now that gas is under $4. But not too long ago it was $2.50.
We've been conditioned to accept higher gas prices because we don't have a choice.
PS3 players have been conditioned to accept a lousy online community because they don't have a choice.

okay, I lie. I actually logged into GT5 online and I quickly realized I needed more practice before running against those guys.
I then turned into that annoying *** little kid that just starts SMASHING every car that gets near him. That was kinnda fun.

Funny . . . 3 of my buddies just sold their XBOX's because they said the network was horrible. They refuse to pay for shitty service.
And as for the players, I have only played COD online, and the PS3 players are much better. When I play on XBOX, I am topping every list for most points/kills. It is like all the players REALLY suck. But on the PS3 network, I am just slightly above average.
It is funny to see all my xbox buddies try to play on my PS3, they just get owned.
But again . .. . that is just 1 game

online play is the **** on ps network. ya there are little kids that annoy, but hey, brings my rank higher just cuz they suck that bad. **** it points are points, no matter how you get them. and every one ive played agianst online has been in their 30's, like my self. a couple of teenagers, but older people none the less.

COD5 will be done by Infinity Ward again, They are the good half of the team.
When IW left is when the game went downhill. But they were back for 4, and have signed on for 5. As long as IW is working on it, you can rest assured it will be a good game
