RCCAZ Club meeting this Saturday, July 16th
Everyone,
Join us this Saturday evening, July 16th, for our first of two “2005 Hot Summer Nights” car show outings. Plan to meet in front of the Safeway in the Safeway Plaza on the Northeast corner of 83rd Avenue and Lake Pleasant Parkway (Loop 101, West on Union Hills Drive, then North on 83rd Avenue to 20713 N. 83rd Ave.) around 7:30 pm. There are several fast food resturaunts in the area to grab a bite to eat while we enjoy the car show that’s become a Saturday Night tradition on the Northwest side of town. In addition to the car show, we’ll announce club events for the next three months as well as discuss plans to attend Sevenstock 8 on Saturday, October 8th in Irvine, CA.
A special note of thanks in advance to Mike and Linda Rizzo for setting up this event.
Hope to see everyone there!!!
Tim

Hi Tim!
Are you saying after meeting at 83rd Ave and Lake Pleasant Parkway, the group is going to Scottsdale Pavilions for the show there, or is the show near Safeway Plaza at 83rd Avenue and Lake Pleasant Parkway? I want to meet up but I have an errand to do at 6 that may go well beyond 7:30, so I could come after, just late (maybe 8:15), and want to know where to show up. Safeway Plaza or Scottsdale Pavilions? You may always call me on my cell too, at 602-509-8200. Thanks.

They used to hold the N.W. side show at the Fry's on 75th and Bell rd. they were chased out when Arrowwhead became busy. from reading Tim's post, the show is at the 83rd and Lake Plesant rd Safeway only, not meeting there and then driving to the Scttsdle Pavs one.
Time to clean the Car!
See ya there.

Pics now up from Last Saturday's Event!
Everyone,
Thanks to those who braved the heat last Saturday Night to join us for our first of two Hot Summer Night events for 2005. RCCAZ was well represented with close to 20 rotary powered cars attending the Saturday night show that has become a staple on the Northwest side of town. The July event was the Grand unveiling of our 2005 club Tshirt "Rotorhead to the Bone" and also gave us a chance to go over our RCCAZ club schedule for the second half of 2005. Thanks again to Mike and Linda Rizzo for organizing the event and to those who made it out. Look forward to seeing everyone in August for our Annual RCCAZ Club Picnic. Until then, check out pics from last Saturday's event in our RCCAZ Image Gallery.

SevenStock
Hello AZ RX owners.
I have been reading about the SevenStock event coming up in October. Sounds pretty cool.
Do you drive your vehicles over?
If so, are there plenty of gas stations along the way to keep the RX tanks filled up?
I am only asking because I recently took a trip to California (driving my wife's v6 Hyundai) and was able to drive over and back with only filling up, twice.
I was thinking, if I had made this trip in my RX-8, I do not know if I would have even been able to make it to Blythe without out filling up once before getting there.
Just curious, I am interesting in going and would very much like to drive the RX-8 and be part of a RX caravan.

Yes, we do drive our RXs. Last year we had nearly 30 cars in the caravan which leaves from the Cracker Barrel at I-10 and Litchfield road on Friday, October 7th at 7 am (or earlier if the forecast calls for extremely HOT weather). If your 8 is topped off at the departure point you should be able to make it to the AZ/Cali border for gas at the Flying J. From there we stop in Palm Springs for a quick bite before heading into Irvine, arriving around 3 pm. I'll get the details out to everyone (hopefully) later today. Looking forward to another trek to Rotary Mecca!

Oh yea.... YES, Friday Oct. 7th is the caravan date. I almost finished my email to send to everyone late Friday before leaving work. I'll have it ready to send Monday morning. It will answer MOST questions that you may have.

Thank you both! I left a note on a white 8 earlier this week and we have been PMing back and forth. I sent him the link to the 05 dates which was on page 9 for me but for some reason it wasn't the same for him. This should definately solve that problem
RCCAZ1, are loaner cars allowed at the picnic if I don't get my car back in time?
