Update to RCCAZ event for Oct 30-31 Weekend
Hey everyone,
After surfing several websites last night I've determined that most low-cost hotels in the Village of Oak Creek are already booked solid for Saturday, October 30th. Hence, I propose that we change our overnight Fall Colors run scheduled for October 30-31, 2004 to a one-day even on either Saturday or Sunday (30th or 31st).
My apologies for getting a late start on planning this event. Hopefully next Fall I'll have my planning ducks in a row sooner and the overnight concept will work out. Please let me know which day (Saturday or Sunday) would work better for your attendance at a driving event on Halloween weekend!
Thanks,
Tim

UPDATE for OCT. 30th
The date of Saturday, October 30th was the overwhelming choice for our next
club run. Here are the details!
Meet this coming Saturday at the Chili's parking lot across from Arrowhead
Mall on Bell Road (1 mile East of the Loop 101 and Bell Road near Sun City).
This is the same parking lot we typically use for our Spring Prescott Run.
Be there at 9 a.m. for instructions and a 9:30 departure. We'll cruise West
on Bell Road through Sun City West and will catch Grand Avenue on our way up
to Wickenburg. From there we'll continue West to 89A and will head up
Yarnell hill to the Kirkland Junction turnoff. From there we'll head
Northwest on SR96 into Kirkland before taking SR10 into SKULL VALLEY (Boo!)
and Iron Springs as we make our way into Prescott through the back door.
From there we'll enjoy lunch at Murphys before heading back into Phoenix on
89A Southbound through the twisties (so don't eat a big lunch) We should
be back into town no later than 4 or 5 p.m.
Please RSVP so we know how many to expect. Looking forward to seeing
everyone there!
If people will post here that they are going to be there I'll let Tim (the meet organizer) know how many to expect :D

Everyone,
For those of you who missed today's field trip up to Finishing Touch body shop in Fountain Hills, all I can say is WOW... you missed a really great event. Shop owners and hosts Glenn and Valerie Roberts opened their facility to us and discussed their shop history and capabilities along with a complete tour of their facility. Everyone who attended received a special "gift" package that included a bottle of custom touch up paint for their individual RX, custom mixed by his manager Matt Tilden. Also, Glenn kept a secret guest under wraps until midway through the event when RCCAZ members were greeted by two-time Indianapolis 500 champion and track single lap record holder Arie Luyendyk who spoke about his racing background and answered questions, signed autographs, and posed for pictures. It was truly an awesome day capped off by lunch at Phil's Filling Station just a mile down the road in Fountain Hills. Pics to come in the next few days on RCCAZ.com in our image gallery!
Thanks to everyone who attended, and thanks again to Glenn, Valerie, Matt and Arie for hosting a truly memorable event!!

Everyone,
Just a friendly reminder that the annual Toyz for Totz Holiday Cruise and
Toy Drive to Wickenburg is this coming Sunday, December 5th. Meet at the
Honeywell facility on the Northeast corner of I-17 and Union Hills at
approximately 9 a.m. Departure time for the cruise/caravan to Wickenburg
from the Honeywell facility will be 10 a.m. Lunch will be available (hot
dogs, bratwurst and soda pop) at the car show in Wickenburg. Please bring
at least one or unwrapped toy to donate to a needy child! This is the 20th
consecutive year that "Remember When Cruise Association" has sponsored this
holiday tradition.
Hope to see you there!
