we are trying to find out if the red matches, but MeShell could not find any dealers out here with a red one. (San Berdo, and Redlands)

Intrested in painting my calipers and I would go half way on the caliper paint if need be with kewscott but I dont think I could be stuck in the area till it drys, how long does it take to dry?

it took me a few hours to do because i pulled the brakes compleatly apart, (i didnt spray with the caliper on the rotor still. if you look at the picture below you will see that the caliper is yellow and the brackets were painted black.

anyways, like i said a few hours. maybe 3 hours or so, some of the time is spent waiting for paint to dry before you can put it all back together.

Just so you all know, i SHOULD be getting my engine back for my race car soon, so as soon as i get that back i will be spending a lot of time working on her getting her ready for seven stock. not that i have a lot of time now, but when the engine comes i will have even less.

No seriously. I use MS Paint to mess around, but I haven't tried PhotoShop.

I think photoshop has a feature that lets you take a color in a picture and fade it to another color. That way it looks realistic. It keeps the shadows and dark areas proportional. You can't do that in Paint.

back to the caliper issue...sounds like we would need to use a weekend given that I can't get to your house before 6:00 on work days. 3 hours would make it 9:00 and paint doesn't tend to dry real well at night with all the moisture we've had in the air the last couple days.

How does next weekend look for you casey...how bout you lawrence?

really it depends on weather i get the engine back or not. but i am sure we can find a day to do it.if worse comes to worse we can always do the fronts first and then the rears..... accually with your help and maybe my roomates shel we can get it done much faster.

lesper4:we went and found a red 8 just now and the red dosn't match up. It looked just like it untell we put it up to the car and the car red is a darker red. It made my vinyl look pink. I don't think thats what you where looking for. But if you still want to use our regular red as a out line so you don't see the red as much and then use a white or a differnt color for the main color that would be cool (like we did on snowfl8k's). If you have any other ideas or what to still come over and see what we could figure out just call us.

Personally thats what I would do, I think that would look really good :D

well i am not sure what the matallic red looks like but i think i will stop by tomorrow if it works for you (did you get that red?). Let me know what you think i will be out and about from 9am - 4pm ish bike ride (huff n puff), i have your number from the club list and you shoul dhave mine. i will check in the morning and again in the late afternoon on the board.

As for the caliper painting i think next week may work for me as well, but my new mods may wait we found a house crap/yeah it is in grand terrace.

lasper, read Meshells post above yours. Give me a call when you get a chance. and no we didnt get any of the metalic red, as it is not the same.
I agree with MeShell, i would do a normal red outline, with a white inline. i think this would work great. this is what wee did to snowfl8ks (see pic below.) you wont even be able to tell that the red is differant.

Casey, it looks like you are going to have a busy month, with all the things that you have committed yourself to....painting calipers, installing banners, getting an engine back into your racecar, and that little extra that you are going to be doing with spice. Just let me know if you need any extra hands. I'm not very mechanical, but am good around the shop as a gopher.....

Kwescott, yes i have commited to a lot this month, it's going to get busy quick. (and has been busy)

shop gophers are more help them most people realize. its amazing how much time you can save if you odnt have to keep getting up every 5 sec. to get something.

Lasper came over last night, we decided on a banner choice. nothing to fancy, but i think it will be clean, and look great!

I am hoping that you and Lasper can come over on the same day, I think that would be very helpfull to have all of us doing two cars, rather then one car at ta time.... (i could be wrong though) but it's really not that big of a deal. it's one of those things that you really only need one person to do it...... (and of course a gopher would be nice to)

anyways, let em know when you want to come over.

Hey Caser....Are you the one that was telling us about a company that does business card that are free? They just have their company logo on it. We are thinking about trying to do some cards to give out about the meets. Hopefully we could get some new faces at the meets. Plus then if we see a car in a parking lot around town we could give them out. That would be a lot easier then caring flier’s.

I would like to do the calipers next saturday. Does this sound alright to all those involved. Casey, would you have enough jack stands to do two cars at once? Maybe three cars if Snowfl8k would ever respond to this issue, which I think has been brought up by me on three occasions now. (oh, and she can't use the excuse that I' always on the computer and she can't use it....cause I'm not even at home this weekend)......

Or, maybe she holding off for a caliper paint that would go with her new accent color does it even come in that color..................?
