I was just sitting on a key board that would only pick up about 70% of the key types. Man that was anoying!

I felt like I was spending more time fixing it then continuing on.

lol.... damn, 1 hour and a full page of debate

well, i got both front and rear bars for next to nothing..... i had no intentions on buying a front at all, but $80 for a $300 bar was too good to pass up...... and the rear was the same deal..... and the BOV i got for $50, so again, a good deal....... and im sorry, but i still like "bling"..... im not a 100% devoted autocrosser.... i just go down to have fun w/ everyone.... and in no way want to keep mine stricty "BSP" legal...... how boring.... but if it comes down to it, 10 minutes of parts removal is absolutely no big deal to me.....

and there another absolutely lame rule.... if a car comes equipped from the factory w/ a 3-point strut bar, whats the difference if you replace it for another one that bolts to the same factory points.... some of these rules are plain retarded! no blow off valves are allowed, but a full stand alone ecu is accepted???? the people who created these rules are cavemen, and need to be hit in the head w/ their own clubs! now the rear bar i understand... and knew what i was getting into when i bought it.... so taking it out isnt an issue... but im gonna keep the bov and strut bar on until someone whines about it.... its not like im gonna be competitve right now anyways, and if and when i do become competitive, ill happily remove them..

You call it a stupid rule, I say you wasted money. You replaced a stock part that worked fine with one that looks better. Just because you do not understand the rules does not make them stupid. You can always find out what parts work and what are bling by looking at the top natl cars. imho you spent $50 + $80 + $80 on crap when you could have put that money towards some good shocks or sticky tires. None of the stuff you bought will make your car faster.

Geez Jason, you're on a freaking warpath today! Who gives a **** what Jessie spent his money on...it's his money to spend.

Not everyone here takes autocross as seriously as you do and if chooses to buy some part strictly for looks or even the slightest chance it'll help in performance, then that's up to him.

and for the record: I still think the Blow-off Valve rule is stupid.

I don't care how he spent his money or mods his car. I was simply explaining to him just because the solo rules do not fit into his mod plans it does not make them stupid.

If you want to start a pissing match explain to me why we are talking about moding an EVO on the RX8 forum.

p.s. often times people that have a misconception of a part and its performance value do think a rule is stupid. Typically those are the same people to do not grasp the big picture of how the rules work for that category and that they are not built around just one car in one class. Before you pop off about the rules why dont you pull them up online and see how many cars are in the SP classes and you may get a clue as to why rules are in place to keep a balance.

That to me sounds like you cared enough to tell him he should have bought some tires instead.

why are we talking about AutoCross in a thread about a San bernardino Cruise??
Yep you are just to smart for me. I am going to lose sleep because he bought bling for his car.

I have no doubt your knowledge of the scca rules ends with whatever tiny bit has been posted on this forum. I also know you have not turned a wheel in competition with any of us, quite possibly you never have with any group, so you will understand if put no stock in your opinion on what parts work and what rules are dumb.

Now if the day comes you think you can build a winner or you have the skills to get it done feel free to step up, in the mean time you are just another guy running your mouth.

I thought the FC was bad @ss... Wish we could have seen it run with some race tires on it. You can have a car that looks cool that is also fast. But just having cool looking parts does not make a car fast.

lol.... again.... im not building my car to specifically run in solo2... i agree i DO need to buy race tires, but i need to get wheels now as well, so it might be a while.... and as for shocks, mine are still new, and dont plan to buy any until they need to be replaced.... or when i get really into the sport.....

and im talking in a thread that some of my closest friends are on.. rx8club or not... this specific thread isnt devoted to rx8's.... we talk about anything and everything.... and nobody seems to mind when my evo gets brought up...

as for what i bought.... im happy with them.. they look nicer than the factory pieces, and take away from the stock look, which is important to me... i hate stock looking parts... always have, always will.... love the sound of bov's, so i got one.... to me, money well spent! now it may not be what you would have bought ULLLOSE, but its all about personal preference, im not a hardcore autocrosser yet, so i purchase "bling" parts still.... not your style, and i understand that.. but dont hound on me and call me a names because it isnt what you would buy! thats just rude! i think the flames you had on your car looked rediculous, but i never said a word, because if you liked it, thats all that mattered! you bring alot of knowledge to us about autocross, and you've helped me w/ many questuions, but lay off on the insults just because im not building my car to your specifications!

and as for the rules... i understand that alot of knowledge was put into those rules, but they arent perfect, and i stand behind my thoughts about the BOV rule... but again... its not a big deal at all.. i was just stating an opinion.. its not like i lose sleep over the rule

now, may peace be with us all

hahaha, you should have stopped right there Jason.

The rest of your mindless rant has absolutely nothing to do with anything as I never once claimed to have any expert knowledge of scaa rules.

ooooh, look at the little guy getting all tough. Should I "cowboy up" and go spend a bunch of money to try and compete with you guys? Would it make you feel big and tough if I did get out on that track with you guys and your car stomped all over mine?
Wow, I won't even get started on how pathetic that is....

I have no ill will towards you Jason, it but I do however have an issue when you blatantly bash a forum member about how to spend his money and then try and backpeddle your way out of it. Now, if you're done with this nonsense, we can continue with our normal off topic thread....

damn, I always miss the good parts.....I was in a fricken meeting and missed everything. Damn.

Not to beat a dead horse, or to grab sides, I think everyone got a little out of hand....if you look back at how it started, Jason made a simple comment (which I found funny) "welcome to SM".

We'll downshift our egos, and get back to the fun.

April 14th....yes. Standard Meet/Greet and Cruise. No talks of anything unusual for the upcoming meet.

There was talks of doing a Malibu meet maybe once yearly.....maybe in the summer months (May/June...maybe).

Hey jedi I took my car to get the rattle in the sun roof fixed after they had to order the parts. Dropped it off this morning, 3rd car in line and they called and said it should be ready Monday some time :O. Never did they say it was such a complicated proces when i dropped it off and they order parts or this morning when i took it in to have the work down. so i took it becasue i don't leave my car at Romero with out me there and especially not overnight. Did you have this issue with time as well?
