lol time for me to get poetic.

my hate for romero motors is undesirable. my experiences with them have been putrid. Chances are that if they "gave you" something, they really fucked sumething up. excuse my french. their evil demise seperated me from my love. my only true love. If they gave you "free floor mats" what probably happened is one of the idiot technicians stepped in a puddle of oil that was in their garage, and he stepped into your car afterwards. not realizing that he had oily shoes until after he drove you car.

The dealership of course would not want to give you your car back damaged (lol) so they knew that you would get upset, so they decided to replace your floor mats.

just out of curiosity loren, did they give your your old floor mats back?

boy, my hate for the romero group is unbeleivable.

btw, if you leave anything of value in the car, they WILL take it. i've owned very few original CDs, and of the ones that i have purchased, ROMERO motors stole/misplaced/borrowed... call it what you want my only original CD that was in the car at the time..

and btw, it was a Smallville soundtrack.

GAH!!!

i feel ur pain guys. and yah, any dealership where u have to worry about getting your cd's stolen is no bueno... same goes for body shops. marco's autobody in san gabriel is highly rated and both bmw & lexus' "recommended shop." but, when i had my beamer fixed there years ago from a front end fender bender, i found an assortment of things that really pissed me the hell off. my trunk lining almost fell off because those ******** stole fasteners and screws off of it. (the damage to my car was the front bumper- so figure that one out!!) i also found some dry cleaning receipts under my drivers seat when i picked it up. (ummm... why they don't even bother pretending and blatantly abuse using ur car- u know something is wrong.) and, lastly, i found a bunch of black sharpie pen marks all over the passenger side outer seat, which luckily came off after i spent a freaking an hour w/ rubbing alcohol going over it bit by bit... it gets me mad just remembering all that... <lol> <sigh>

Kevin,
I know that through everything you've endured with your RX-8 that buying another one might be difficult for you but I saw the grin on your face at SS9 while looking at all those beautiful Rotary engines. I'm still hoping to see you in an RX-8 in the future.

Speaking of buying an 8. Anyone here want to buy a white 8? (fully loaded, except for nav) It's being sold by Paul over at Mazmart and it looks to be in AWESOME shape! (no, this one has not been crashed like his other cars...)

well, with my only two options being Romero (which hasn't done anything negative to me yet), or La Puente (the place that dented my wheel well)...I unfortunately dropped my baby off this morning for the recall. I specifically said I do not want a car wash, and I do not want free gas. I figure...less time around, in, driving my car...the better chance I have of getting out of there with little head ache. Driving a Pontiac Grand Prix...what a rediculous car. I counted the air vents...there are 8 air vents on the dash...four around the drivers side air bag..and two on each side of the stearing wheel....rediculous.

Oh, and can I say BOUNCY.....feel like I'm driving a bus.

haha!!! My sister has one of those as a company car! She came over to my place all excited about it and it took every ounce of restraint to not rain on her parade. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that thinks it drives like ****.

My car is back at the dealership as of this morning.
My car has a really bad idle and any time the AC even thinks about cycling, the whole car starts to shudder. At first I thought I was just being too picky but it's been getting worse and it even startled the hell out of my girlfriend. (who normally doesn't notice things like that)

JUST got a call from the dealership. They've ordered all new motor mounts for my car but they're on a Natoinal Backorder so I'll be picking it up until they arrive and then having to take it back in. Did get a brand new Mustang for a rental though. Pretty nice car (wish it were a GT) but why they heck don't they put volume controls on the steering wheel?

uh, oh....motor mounts...and National backorder...that doesn't sound good. I guess I should keep my eyes open for another Mazda recall letter or two (I always get duplicate recall letters at my house )

well....Romero just called me to inform me that they reflashed the car, tested the Cat (it passed). I asked if they replaced by leading or trailing spark plugs and they said they DID NOT replace my spark plugs because they dont do it within a year if they have already been replaced (I payed for this to be done at 40,000 miles...I know, I know Cesar, this is an easy thing...and I'll make sure you help me on the next replacement )....oh, and the guy said my belts squeak and my drivers side sun visor is broke.

I knew about the squeaky damn belts...but my sunvisor being broken....looks like the curse of Romero has struck, since I never you the damn thing. I explained to the guy I never use the visor and that I didn't bring it in broken...and he said, well, I'll have to check with the technician then, to see what is wrong with the visor. He said this is a common part to break on the 8, saying that he has replaced them several times...4 times on one guys car.

anybody have broken window visors? Anybody even use their visors?

I think it is the clip that holds it, I think the tab on it breaks...or maybe the whole thing breaks and falls of the ceiling....I guess I'll find out this afternoon when I pick up my broken/molested baby.

Don't use my visors so I haven't had one break yet. Bummer to hear about that Keith.

Sqeaky belts because of the pulleys?

My thing...and I'll try to explain this in a way that is non-hostil when I show up there this afternoon is...I need to feel like I can trust the dealership. I wish I could explain to them, why it has taken me so long to get the nerve up to take my car in for this recall. I mean, I am not having any problems with my car..but I am forced to hand my car over to them because if I don't, I won't be able to register my car (due to the emissions recall). I need to trust them that they will care for my vehicle, notify me of something they find that may need to be replaced or fixed...something that is not safe....and, if they do something to my car, take ownership for that and replace the part after notifying me of what occured.

It is this..."oh, did you know" crap that pisses me off....because it isn't a "did you know we broke your car"...it is "did you know that something in your car is broken....(and we didn't do it)".

This is a part of the car I see every day....I am aware of every single rattle in my car. I KNOW this part was not broken when I brought it to them.

But how do I explain this in a way that allows the dealership an opportunity to take ownership for the damage. IF I was still under warranty, it wouldn't be an issue...it would be replaced for free. But, I am nearly 19k miles over my warranty, and things like this add up. We all remember the dented fender issue...which I was unable to get Mazda to accept. I guess I was just lucky that Casey ran into that paintless dent removal guy on one of our recent cruises.

Uggh, I'm a hostil person, or at least I can get that way (as evident by the lease-a-cop at SS9)...some things just really get me out of control.
