Ghost you need at least a 1" clearance around the pipe or it will melt the bumper.

Thanks for all the B-Day wishes everyone.

BTW - For those that don't understand the "El Diablo" reference, it's from Talladega Nights.

i think i might have you beat. a lady asked me to roll down my window yesterday and told me that the back of my car was on fire.

by the way, i heard you welded in a cat. what kind did you use and did it fix the fire problem?

i gotta replace one of my resonators with a cat cause my exhaust is LOUD

viper i just got a short shifter for the P5, man does it feel good after we got it installed the proper way. i wont mind so much driving Mirnas car now except for treh slow accelerations poor handeling and un cockpit like feel. Kieth also examined the roof rack points and i think we should take a closer look at the two cars when we have time if you are still intresed in the swap.

hehe.. i knew it would be loud. i just thought a dual stage scilencer + 2 gigantic resonators would do the trick.

you think replacing my smaller 18" resonators with a 11" cat would do the trick? its only a 300 cell count though and flows 600 cfm which is pretty damn high. its the best i could find thats rated for 1700-1900 degrees.

that would leave me with one high flow cat, a 2.5 foot resonator, a cannister muffler and a dual stage silencer (i wanna get rid of that).

by the way folks, ive noticed a difference in performance between stock and this system without the silencer. the throttle response is better and it seams to really rev up faster throughout all of the rev range but its more noticable up top. 4000-7000rpm seams to have more punch when you floor it to pass someone. its too bad its soooooo loud otherwise id love to keep it catless even though at 600CFM it should be like it isnt even there.

heres a link to cats that are specifically made for rotaries.... (scroll down the page to the cats)

http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/fcexhaust.html

a cat will quiet it down enough to keep it tolerable
