P.S. The bridge is closed due to an oil spill in the lake
and probably won't open for another month, so you have to go all the way around the lake to get the more resort side.

Speaking of reds, TOCA did you get yoru MS front on yet? any other MS pieces like sideskirts?
As for rain pictures i have seen enough accidents in person this month so i dont think i will be going out to take pictures in the rain with my 8
And the new story.......
I found out i have a front right outer tie rod that is bent. Mazda told me this when i got my oil change. It is in the same location that the accident occured on. I told the body shop where i had the rapairs done and they sent me to the alingment shop that worked on my car. They are saying that since the car was able to be alingned with in specifications that they shouldnt have to replace the part. Well i have the papers from mazda specified what is wrong and what should be done and will be going to mazda thursday again to look for myself and get a written statement that this does need to be reaplced becuase the body shop doesn't seem to want to cover this. HUH! i will get them, after all how else would you bend that and not have any damage.

I agree that is totally unprofessional. Just because they were able to align the car with a crooked part doesn't return the car back to stock. I hate when companies try to do this to people. They are getting plenty of money from the insurance company, actually, I feel these shops get overpaid. Anyways, I would continue to work on them for this, and if you don't feel they are going to treat your car with utmost care, then I would contact the insurance company and inform them of what has been done. Get another insurance company recommended shop. Have the new shop do the repair and the insurance company will bill the other shop.
At this point, I wouldn't trust them with my car.

yah. u have to wonder about their short-sightedness. i mean, do they REALLY think u'll go back to them or refer family & friends to them after they've short-changed u? i would even go a step further and report them to the better business bureau. the more complaints on file w/ them, the bigger warning it is to consumers.
Lesper,
That's absolutely unacceptable on the body shop's part.
If Mazda deems it "damaged" then it should be replaced. From that conversation you and I had a while ago, it doesn't seem as though you were satisfied with their work anyways so I would look into having that repaired at a different shop.
Maybe your dealership can recommend someone? Just make sure that bill gets sent to your insurance company.

well lesper, what you can do is:
afte the body shop does the repairs, talk it back to the dealership, and ask them if everything is okay...
if they say no, then take it back to the body shop, and tell them to replace it
if they say yes, then enjoy the rest of your life

But seeing that it's 2am, i don't know if that will be possible

Just thought the 2nd pic was cool cause you can see the snorkel.....thought it would be fun to paint it white, then my front end would look completely like a mouth with a set of teeth. (go ahead photo choppers....this should be a fun one).

Well I found out that mazda had some miss communication. It was not a bent tie rod but a busted tie rod at the nuckle joint (too much play).....when I took it back to the alingment place they tightened the bolt but still feel it is best to replace it......and I also got some attention to the strange feeling in the sterring column by the tech who believes that the rack and pinion is bent. So I am now waiting for an AAA rep to come out and document the findings to approve the work before anything can get done. They suggest not to drive it becasue if the tie rod goes major damage can occur again to the body and interal mechanicas. So it looks like I wont have my car back till monday maybe? (and my birthday is sunday
...) but with new tie rod and rack and pinion. Everything should be covered by the innsureance. Oh and the reason I think the problem wasn't noticed was because when they lift the car at the alingment shop they lift it by the tires and not the frame. Well I guess that is it.
Oh and Keith Romero says your car was a pain to lift, because of the body kit.

i took my car down to romero earlier this morning for my center console, and my tailight. i got my center console replaced, but they had to order me a new tail light. so i gotta go back for that one once they call me saying that it's in. i asked the guy if they could just take a tail light from one of the 8s on the floor. he said no
. oh well, it was worth a try
