The official 626 SGV Meet Thread!!!!!!!!!!
touchy car isn't it? its always too much or too little... hard to get just the right balance.
don't remember exact what my water was doing... but it was under 180 during the cruise, really predictable. just happy to see oil temps come down as that gave me a hint to top off some.
has ur coolant mods helped on giving u more predictable oil temps? cuz i always seem to trip when it reaches 220...trying for it not to start going over too fast.
and u would know all too well about how gauges make u drive slow ...shhh, thanks for waiting.
but the temps on this run has been really good for the most part. didn't slow down my fun 'til we slowed to regroup.
I don't have real gauges; I feel with a stock engine and the cooling mods I do have I should be able to run decent temperatures. All I know is that at Buttonwillow at 100 degree heat my car was very happy. I can kind of get a feel for how hot the car is running by judging whether the fans come on or not as we know the fan on temps for the Mazsport module. On that day, the fans didn't even come on as I pulled into the pit lane after a cool down lap so at the very least the temperatures drop quickly. Regardless, I'm not incredibly keen on having to check more gauges while driving at speed and so have held off on installing gauges. Not to mention I would rather spend my money on other things for the car at the moment.
Doesn't anyone have pictures from the drive? C'mon people, post them up! I especially want to see the shots from Rim of the World.

For any of you interested in the evo x and its prowess: Evo X 322whp/350tq That's with 4 mods btw. Numbers wise, that dyno reads real low, add about 60-70 more hp for crank. Comparative wise, I made 300/300 on that with 4 better mods...

Bonus run!
If anyone is not burned out by last Saturday and is interested in another run this Sunday, this time during the day, shoot me a PM. I'm probably going to take advantage of the great weather we're going to get

Sadly for Ryan, probably around 3 in the afternoon. I'll negotiate with Adam.
Though I will say, considering how hasty I am doing this and how I just jumped at the opportunity, you know the road's good. For those that know me well, it's not hard to figure out which roads I'm planning to hit.

After negotiating with some people, we should be able to accommodate your schedule. Aren't you feeling the love?
This isn't quite an official drive, which means some things are lacking and the course is more flexible. From San Gabriel, this will probably be a 250 mile round trip.
