I wasn't planning to, but the deal was too good. I looked at both the silver and the black in person since I wasn't sure if I wanted to switch to black, but I ended up liking the silver more. It's got a lot of flakes and so in the sunlight it really pops.

And no, I'm not planning a run for the near future. Probably the next one will be in January. I don't want to burn you guys out!

I can just pick them up sometime or you can drop them off if you're in the area. Let's find a time that works for both of us. Instant messaging programs help with the planning!

It's so tough just having the wheels sitting there. I want to install them now, but that will require new tires and I don't feel like spending even more money this month.

The only reason I even bought them when I did was because I've been planning to go to an 18x9 for awhile now, as many people here know, and this deal was too good to pass on. I really can't get a lot of resale from a set of used Sport Z1s, so I'm just going to wear them out and throw on 245/40s on the SSRs when the current set is dead.

Just let me know. I'll be good to meet you.

congrats on the SSR's. they are perhaps my favorite brand, and rishie is a really good guy to get it from.

i can so totally see the reasoning on your choice of color. and some kind of dark metallic would be too redundant on your car...

but other than that, i kinda liked the type F's over the C's. SSR's make really nice wheels, light-weight competition types or not... you'll really enjoy them!

just be careful of wheel flex from them

The old Competitions were supposedly pretty fragile wheels, but apparently when they went to the Type C designation, they redesigned them to be about 20-30% stiffer. They also changed the 18" and 19" wheels to be two piece welded instead of one piece as the bigger sizes were hard to produce as a one piece forge and too many wheels were failing QC. The downside was about a pound of extra weight. The Type Fs are their newest design and are a bit like the CE28Ns in style and my hope for that is that they're even stronger than the Type Cs. The 18 and 19s are just like the Type Cs in that they're two piece welded.

The silver on the Type Fs really have a pop to them. There's a lot of flakes in them and in sunlight they simmer like a bassboat. I can't wait to put them on, but wait I'll have to do.

^^ really? i guess they don't roll forge for those wheels.

maybe they up'd the bead seats for more strength... idk. but i don't think autox'ers cared too much on wheel flex for their applications. i personally haven't heard of these type C's just "breaking" from use.

maybe if you're low-riding with low profiles and stretched tires... then a bent rim is inevitable.

however, on those type F's, i don't see the slight added weight and the tire size choice to slow you down.

wheel flex...

honestly, the type F's look better anyways imo. who cares of a lil weight here and there. its more useful on a street app anyway

i do however like the bright aluminum brushed finish like that of S2k wheels....

The Type C and Type Fs are semi-solid forged, which is sort of SSR's signature now. I don't think the extra pound will slow me down, but I like my wheels as light as possible. Originally I was going to get the WedsSport TC105Ns like Sammy, but not in his size, but the Type F deal was too good to pass and so I accepted an extra pound or so of weight.
