Talk to Phil about a rebuild. $2500 for a stronger renesis than what comes from Mazda.

Having purchased that car from a used car dealer is going to present a problem for clearing it up. The first thing that we need to do is find out if Courtesy has posted the Vin number as Warranty Void. My bud at Mazda got laid off so we may need to find out from the dealer (somehow)(Gil if you tight with one of the Courtesy see if you can find out). If they did post it then it's custom rebuild time. If they did not post it then it may be able to get worked out. I'm sure it's just one of those ebay chips that is attached somewhere and we can remove it. Three driving cycles and all memory of it being there should be gone. Finding it can be a problem.

I'll see what a good rebuilt engine will cost these days. A three rotor would be nice but you would have to change all the fly by wire parts cuz the ECU is only set for two rotors and that would be expensive. I could be gaining another FI partner here. If he has no warranty then he might as well.

 

Good you made it home in one piece. It's doing well, I need to get these parts back to Phil.
