Trouble with putting shock back together.....Help
So today we're lowering the 8 with tanabe GF210's and we have the back shocks off. But we're having trouble getting hte housing back on the shock with the new springs. When we try to push the washer, donut....all that stuff on to the shock so we can put the housing back on the shock compresses and we can't get it to come through the washer, donut etc. to secure the housing. Anyone run into this problem before? I did a search and found instructions on installation but nothing troubleshooting this problem. If anyone has a pic of exactly how everything goes back on the shock that would help too as I couldn't find any pics with active links. Thanks for any advice....................

lol, we're using one
The orange rubber bushing (not sure what to call it looks like a caterpilllar) for those of u who have done this is the problem. We can't get it to compress enough to get the shock to pop through the top of the housing enough to get the nut on.
Let me ask this, Just how much do we need to compress the spring? Like all the way>? Cause we haven't compressed it a whole lot yet.

Check page 26. This is where I got all my info when I did it...I'm not takin credit for it.
That's the bump stop. You'll need to cut it a bit so that you're not riding on it with the lowered setup

pm'ed you. Gist of it: racing beat suggested cutting down by 1.75 inches, but they have less of a drop than the tanabes so I'm not sure. There's not much more to cut after that...

Got a question along these lines. I put eibach springs on my car about 4 years ago, noticed lately I been hitting the bump stop pretty hard, took apart my rear end and my driver rear bump stop is shreaded....Anyone know why this happened? Did I hit a hard bump? Also anyone know where I can get a replacement?
