That is Crazy.. your Exhaust comes of just like the OEM unit except is easyer to remove than Stock.. They can't charge you to remove anything at all for a Recall inspection.. You need to make them give you your money back.. Thats not right at all !!!

Incidentally, I talked to the tech who did the work, and he said he saw no heat damage to my car.
Oh, and I haven't noticed any difference so far since moving up to the 'R' flash. I don't know if it was supposed to make any differences to normal driveability or not. I got the 'N' flash at the beginning of May and my MPG went up over 1mpg since then. I hope 'R' doesn't screw that up somehow. I will keep an eye on it.
Edited to Add:
I should point out that my dealer gave me just a little trouble about my aftermarket (Borla) exhaust. I had to pay them for the hour of labor to drop the exhaust to do the recall work. They told me they'd "look the other way" on the aftermarket part if I paid the labor. I felt like that was kind of lame and baseless, but I wasn't in the mood to fight with them over $40 so I just paid it.
Just wanted to say that in case anyone else is concerned about their aftermarket exhaust. I'm wondering if my dealer is the only one who has bitched about it.

I will look tomorrow when it's daylight again, but I doubt I'd be able to get a decent pic. I have no way of lifting the car. But I will look.
There is no campaign sticker under the hood or in either door jamb. I didn't look anywhere else but I can't imagine where else they'd put it.... weird.
I don't know how long it took them for sure because I left the car there, but it couldn't have been longer than two hours because they called me to verify whether I'd pay the labor cost before doing the work and then called back two hours later after it was done.

You know, I said the exact same thing and I started to argue with him and then I just sat back and decided it wasn't worth the $40 to make a stink about it. He didn't seem inclined to budge so I backed off. If it had been a several hundred dollar charge, I would've fought it for sure.

Well, when you put it like that, zoom44. I believe I will send them a letter. I tend to get a better response that way. I'll just tell them that I don't believe I should've been charged for the recall work and I'd like a thorough explanation of why they felt they had to remove the exhaust to perform the work and why I had to pay for it.
Thank you all for the info.

"Defect Details: There is a possibility for excessive thermal heat to build up around the exhaust system."

Here is my story so far - Went in for the 30K service, and asked if they were ready for the recalls. They said they did not have all the parts yet. So while up on the lift, we did the inspection of all the parts, and we did not find anything that was damaged from heat. Not one little stinkin' item. Maybe my complete exhaust mods helped. We also checked the control arms, and they looked fine to the naked eye, but you need a scope to see the hairlines I bet - right Charlie . The Master Tech took my car out for a spin with all my mods, and came back with a big 'ole grin on his face. He liked the it.
I'm back on the street, and we need to go back for the recalls once they are setup. They did get parts to do their entire inventory of new cars so they could sell them.
Hope everyone else has my luck

kevin has your car sat still at 2500 rpm for ten minutes ever? hence no damage. it doesnt have anything to do with stop and go traffic. i have said that many times now.
the ball joint cracks that could cause the control arm to fail cant be seen by human eyes. you need x rays or sonics etc. when you see it it would have already failed.
